Thanks for prayers -update on FIL surgery

The surgeon just spoke with the family (6 PM). He was very encouraging, and very optimistic. Here is what he said:

The valve has been repaired and is functioning properly

His pulmonary pressure has already dropped from 100 to 30 - which is more like where it needs to be.

The kidneys are doing well.

He expects the liver to follow as all the other organs are quickly improving.

He did not repair the tricuspid valve. 95% of the time the reason for the tricuspid's malfunction is because of the myatral (sp??) - so he thinks it will go back to normal function.

He expects a full recovery. The surgery went better than he expected it to.

In approx 1 to 1 1/2 hrs they will be allowed in to see him momentarily, then they will all head home.

He will still have a long recovery - but we are thankful!!!!
