I can't believe this just happened!!

My husband called to say a gentleman from the electric company had showed up at our business to turn off the electric.  WHAT!?!  So I pulled the file -I had run the check 14 days ago - I'm sure I mailed it within a couple days of that -so the payment has been in the mail close to 2 weeks!  Plus the kicker... the bill was due yesterday!  So, I asked him to give me 5 min.  I called the electric company and waded through the automated phone system until I spoke to a human voice. Theresa listened to my quick and a little flustered statement - she looked up our account and said, "Your account is at a 0 balance!"  So I asked her to please contact the man - I gave her the company's phone number.  She kindly did call and spoke to their representative.  She called to tell me she had handled it, I thanked her kindly.  My husband called a minute later to say the man had left.  What in the world!?!?  I didn't know that they were so fierce anymore!  I generally make utilities a priority in payment anyway - and I mailed this in ample time.  I will be curious once I view the statement to see when they pulled the check from our account...... goodness, I'm thankful it came out ok.  eeks!

That had to be an awful feeeling! Isn't it strange how quickly they were there to cut it off, and how long it can take for them to come and fix a problem, lol! I am so glad alll worked out for you.
