Are you my friend?
My husband made a funny comment yesterday... He said, "I was thinking about your friend in Michigan..." :0) Well, that "friend" is someone who probably doesn't even know I exist! :0) She is a blogger here that I read her blog, I relate to her, appreciate her thoughts, and pray for her, and tell my husband things that are going on in her life - via her blog!
I am a true stay at home homeschooling mom. Church, and the grocery and an occasional errand or delivery for my husband's business is all we get out. I don't talk to my friends on the phone - they are busy, and because my children are little, it's just not possible.
I usually read the news daily for some outside world connection. I was tiring of what I saw - it didn't seem to be anything edifying. So I found this blog and began to use it as my daily outside connnection. Reading about your lives, feeling badly for some of you, weighed down for some, connecting with some of the open honest thoughts, fears, and doubts shared, thankful or laughing with some of you.
So when hubby comes home and kids are in bed and we sit down to chat and he says what happened to you today - or who did you talk to. Since the kids are usually the only ones I talk to besides him - I began relating some of the blog happenings, as he related what transpired at work. It gave me something to think about and talk about! So A. from Michigan was talking about some heavy things in her life and I have been sharing them with him throughout and that brought on the comment yesterday.
So I just thought I'd let you know.... I guess some of you are my friends in an interesting sort of way... and you don't even know it!
Maybe I need to get a real life!!!! :0) LOL
Blessings to you all and thanks for your friendship....

He he....you sound like me. I told hubby the other day that I have alot of ideas and comments going on in my head that I didn't think he would understand because they were things I learned or discussed with my blogger friends here. I started telling him about what I was doing to keep our family simple and frugal and the things i had learned about saving money, saving on our electricity bill, etc. He was so suprised that there is a whole different Amy Jo in here. LOL I have just started implementing certain things I have learned into our home and he has noticed but didn't know where it was coming from, and was pleased to know that my computer time wasn't being wasted looking at stupid websites, but learning and being lifted up!!! He loves the fact that I am cooking more, cleaning more, and seem to have a sense on life here in the home!
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

I often speak of my friends too. Very often actually. Some my husband knows by name though he never reads blogs. I am a Homemaker and it's the same for me as far as being at home or at Church or the grocery store. I feel like I've really broadened my horizons and learned so much since blogging here. I pass on the things I learn to my hubby.
Yep!

I can definatly relate. :) Some of my good blogging friends have become in-real-life friends as well, though! I now have a friend that I can call on the phone, and we visit her family several times a year although she's in a boardering state.
It's tough because it seems like everyone I know personally works and has no children, or homeschools so I fear disrupting the schedule, you know?
I can most certainly relate! :)

had to smile . :)
I have to smile after I read your post! :) I live in a very rural area - very isolated from others.....we homeschool and stay home most days..... my life is much like yours. :) My kids and hubby are my friends.. and yes I count my precious friends here at HSB as friends! :) Just so you know you are definately not alone my dear!
Blessings~~

My dear sweet friend-
Remember when there was such a thing as “pen pals”- making friends you would never really meet “in person” in this life? Blogging just takes that to another level. We make connections here that can be just as real as a phone call or letter. Sometimes I find that people can be more real here than in real life and I like that even more.
I know that some day in heaven I will come face to face with friends I have made in bloggityville who have lifted me up in prayer and made a difference in my life- and that excites me! Yahoo!
My hubby “gets” it too. He was also very touched by the outpouring of prayer support I received and enjoys when I share with him from my bloggy friends. When I told him I was asking my bloggy friends for prayer- he didn’t bat an eye, just said “Good”.
We may not meet this side of heaven, but you are among the jewels of friendship in my treasure chest.
With warmest regards,
Your friend A. in Michigan
