The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the and the WardrobeMovie Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the and the Wardrobe The beloved book by C.S. Lewis has finally been brought to life on the big screen! Since all family standards are different, some of you may disagree with me and that is fine. I, for one, think it is a very good rendition and nicely true to the book, unlike many movies these days. No major parts were cut out, although they had the children get into the wardrobe a little quicker than the book did. The computer graphics are wonderful, but the battle is a little intense. I would not recommend taking your younger children to see it on the big screen. If your little ones often have bad dreams or have a tendancy to get scared at night, you will definately want to fast-forward the part when the kills Aslan. When Daddy took us older three children to see it, I made my brother sit on my lap for that part. I can truthfully say I never missed any of it or closed my eyes, but I wanted someone to squeeze! Do any you have a certain spot where your buttonseems to ALWAYS bust off? Well, next time you're sewing it on, use upholstry thread. It will work (I just tried it) and it will hold your button on! Children are a blessingIn our culture, children are regarded as pests and burdens, not God-given gifts! Me and my family strongly believe in taking as many children as God chooses to bless us with. Personally, I want at least 40 of my own! I'm sure this will bring a lot of comments, but that's what I like!

If any of you are considering moving to another state, North Carolina is a very moderate state and a realativly safe one. But if you want to continue homesteading, you will probably have to live in the mountains or way down south to get the kind of acreage you need with a reasonable price. Do any of you live here in NC? It really is beautiful and has a nice climate. ![]()
Baby tipGood morning, blog readers! Since most of you have children, this should be a useful tip. Every night that I am responsible for putting my baby brother, Squishy, to bed, I bathe his face with a wet washcloth. It calms him down, especially if he is sick. You can use either warm or cold water, depending on the weather. If your little one has a fever, I would suggest cold water, but it's up to you! Also, you can decide exactly how wet it is, depending on the situation. Hope it helps! Note on 'Goat Milk'A commenter (Kay) reminded me of goat cheese. It is very good, although I don't know how to make it. I've heard different things about making it, but have never tried. Kay-do you know how to make it? If so, please to comment again with a link to your blog! Milk GoatsMost of you know about farm animals and some of you probably have goats. Milk goats can be very profitable. If you can manage to get your children 'weaned' off cows milk and onto goat's milk, you'll save the money you spend on your weekly milk. If your goats yield enough milk, you can sell it and will eventually pay off the price you paid for them!
