Checking out some organic cleaners...

Posted in Organics

One of the neat things about being Senior Editor here is that people send me neat products to review. Well I'm really excited because Miiko from Berrysong sent me a box of some of  their organic cleaners and plant fertilizer. Today we're cleaning out and underneath and behind our washer, dryer, and refrigerator and so we should really get a chance to put their Cleaner & Degreaser to the test.

Of course I'm really excited about the Plant Bio-Wash 1227 too. Miiko sent me an awesome story with pictures of a guy's orange grove and oranges compared to his neighbors.

Jim Little, a California orange grove grower, took these pictures shortly after the recent California freeze that destroyed most of the California crops.

This  photo shows his neighbor's grove across the highway from Jim's grove.
His neighbor had not washed his trees with the 1st Enviro product.
That poor grower lost most of his crop, suffering economic loss.

This photo shows Jim's trees that he had washed with 1st Enviro's Plant Wash product.
They were not damaged by the frost. His crop was saved.

Here's more from Jim....

The green orange was grown by Jim's neighbor who did not spray his trees with 1st Enviro's Plant Wash. His oranges require coloring with artificial dye in order to make them marketable. The orange orange came from Jim's grove. Jim sprayed his trees with 1st Enviro's Plant Wash. Jim's oranges are naturally orange, thus requiring no toxic dyes to make them marketable.

This photo shows the inside of each.

He also sent a lab report (Brix test) that measures the sugar content of fruit and vegetables.

The sugar content is important to growers. It (1) indicates the amount of nutrition in the product and (2) determines the marketability of the product. Customers prefer sweet, nutritious fruits and vegetables.

Jim's orange contained approximately 20% more sugar content than the untreated oranges.

Jim believes that this new discovery is of significant importance to fruit and vegetable growers and to the people who consume those products.

Thank you for this!
Have you noticed how hard it is to find a sweet orange over the past couple of years? And my children love oranges.
I think this is great news. I'm going to check it out.

We use Shaklee cleaners, which I have been happy with but I am going to investigate this.

I just signed up for the BerrySong free newsletter, and they sent me a free e-book! ( ;

Thanks!!

That is so cool!! I was looking for a product that I was told about. It was a type of fertilizer that was supposed to put nutrients back into the plant that the plant needs to naturally fight off blights and diseases.

This is amazing, isn't it? I have added more examples in my blog. I also hope you had good experiences with the cleaners! The blender took 5 years of research and experimentation to "perfect" his proprietary formula. It is also personally certified by the formulator as "Carcinogen-Free."
