Monday, December 31, 2007 - Just trying something out... |
My husband has requested that we start working towards becoming more scheduled as a family, as he is starting a new career as a pastor and we are homeschooling and growing a family. I know it is a wise decision, and something I have tried time and time again to implement, but I struggle. I am hoping that my desire to help my husband and honor his wishes will provide the impetus I need to stick to it this time!
Quite a while ago now, I came across a website called NumSum. It is an online spreadsheet program that not only allows you to create spreadsheets, but share them with others as well. I just put together our family schedule, using hubby's work schedule as a foundation. NumSum allows you to share these spreadsheets on your blog, and so that is what I am trying today. :-)
So here goes...
Okay, that was kind of fun. Any comments on my schedule??? |

It looks like a pretty good schedule to me! It is not a tightly packed one so there is room to do things. I like it!

Something else to look into would be 'routines'.
Find out what your personal 'time wasters' are, eliminate them, and then just being new routines.....
Bless your heart for honoring your dh's wishes!!

| Looks good! Just make sure you schedule in a little rest and honour that free time for yourself too. I may visit that site myself - my schedule needs an overhaul as Jess is starting four half days of kindy in Feb. Love you, Han |

You know one thing I find frustrating about the schedule I just did, is that it doesn't represent the reality of what goes on. My schedule looks fairly relaxed and do-able, but my actual life is non-stop work, and exhausting! I am afraid my schedule isn't going to work. But maybe if I'm better organized (re: cooking and cleaning) I can actually fit those things into their "slots". Not to mention school work.
Yours looks great :-) |

We've been working the schedule for two days so far, and it is going well...a couple things I didn't mention: Larry is home a lot more now (than when he was in college) and there are days when he is available to take over the schedule. SWEET. Also, Wednesday is our "split sabbath". This means we each get 4 hours to ourselves. Yesterday I went to the library. By myself. It was GREAT! Next week I am going to go swimming. :-) The one thing we haven't started yet is the new school year...so I don't know how that is going to fit into 2 2-hourly sessions yet. Maybe it won't.
As for you, Moey, you just have too much on your plate, sistah. I don't know what else to tell you (except that I would take the household help if I were you). Love you! |
