Yeah, I think I'm the worst mom in the world sometimes. Case in point: I only realized my daughter's fourth birthday was coming up...the day before.

In my defense, though, I have a mad case of preggy-brain, as well as a lot going on right now. And I kind of redeemed myself, anyway, by managing to hand-make her two presents
and arrange a little party for her. So it all worked out in the end, and she was a happy girl on her Big Day.

I was really happy with the way this little carry-bed turned out (especially given the, uh, time frame...). It is machine-quilted, and lined. I also made the little quilt and a lace-trimmed pillow. That's one comfy baby doll in there! Mae loves it (as I think you can see).

Note the little pocket -- there's one on the other side, too. This is for the little Mama to carry her baby's bottle, or diaper, or whatever she likes, really.

Gosh that was fun to make, and painless. Almost. :-)

And a shot of Miss Sassy Four-Year-Old wearing a made-over dress. I found this in the stash that was handed down to me by my sister when she moved. The dress was just a plain cotton print -- I added the pockets and other embellishments. Mae has some growing to do yet, I imagine it will fit her in about a year. She likes it, though, and that's the main thing. :-)
So I guess I earned the right to crown myself Queen of the Last-Minute Homemade Gift. Yay for me!
