Springtime - New Life!!

There is something so exciting about spring. Here in Maine, spring comes a bit late but when it does it happens quickly. 2 weeks ago everything around here looked dead. If it wasn't for the evergreens, the outside world would have been nothing but grey and brown, that is except for the crocuses that come up and bloom through the snow and stay blooming for a few weeks. Today as I look out my window everything is green. The trees now have their leaves, the perennials are up and filling in my flower beds - some are even blooming! The herbs are growing profusely in my herb garden. - Anyone want some chives?? Really it is amazing how fast the change happens. Just when I feel I can't stand to look at the gray world any longer and begin to dream of moving south, spring time arrives.
I can't help but think at this time of year of the newness of life we receive from Christ. He takes our dead ugly lives and transforms them into something fresh, new, and beautiful. And just like the earth, He renews those of us who have been Christians for many years after a season of dullness and dead works as well. God is good! Just to know Him is a pleasure! To know that I am loved by the Creator of the universe is so overwhemingly good that sometimes I can hardly believe it, but I do because His Spirit reassures me everyday - every moment.
