It is hard to believe the Christmas season is officially over.

As I sit here writing, with my bare Christmas tree behind me, I am reluctant to let the season end. We have had such a wonderful time this year celebrating with family and friends. We have attended parties and programs, made ornaments with friends, gone carolling, given and received gifts, had wonderful food, sang and listened to beautiful music and many other activities. What a wonderful time of year. I know many are concerned about the commercialism of Christmas without a focus on Christ. We, however, love to celebrate Christ's coming. Similar to the Old Testament feasts and celebrations, except for us the celebration lasts over a month as opposed to three days!

Tonight, our tree will be propped up out by our bird feeders, our piano will be pushed back in place and nearly all signs of Christmas will be gone from our home. Yes, I sadly will miss Christmas, yet I look forward to the new year - the new "season" beyond Christmas!

It is funny how we anticipate it for so long, and in a blink of the eye, it's over. It is sad to have to take down all the decorations and the tree. But just think spring is right around the corner. There is always something new and exciting waiting for us.

It is a bit sad to take down the Christmas tree. Must be why I haven't done it yet! We too had a wonderful time during the Christmas season and I look forward to the new year as well. I hope you'll quickly feel at home at Homestead Blogger. It's a very friendly place. I have also learned so many practical and encouraging things here. Thanks for such a nice welcome to homesteadblogger! I had had a blog at homeschoolblogger a while ago, but it seemed a bit more difficult to login. I was able to choose my own password with Homesteadblogger and the login is a snap! (I may have been able to use my own password at hsb as well but I couldn't figure it out! :) )

Yes, new seasons are exciting! With Christmas over, I can spend time enjoying winter. I do love winter - when we have lots of snow!
