My favorite one was the red dress you made that had a little red shawl. And I remember Cori wearing one that looked like a hotel drapery. She was tan and skinny though and pulled it off ok. deone

I thought that spring was here! Well, not today! We have had snow, hail and rain. As soon as we blew in from church I started a fire in my cook stove. I love cooking on my stove so I was rather pleased to start it up again. It not only warms my great room (kitchen, and family room) but it warms my heart. Today in Relief Society we studied repentance and forgiveness. I am so greatful for the principal of repentance. We talked about what we need to do to retain a remission of our sins from day to day, so that we can walk guiltless before God. The scriptures say we need to impart our substance to the poor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick and administer to their relief...spiritually and temporally. I know that there are so many out there that need our help, but I also thought that we do those things daily in our own homes, to our own families. So maybe all things begin at home and spread outward, because the verse also says all these things need to be done in wisdom and order. God is a God of order. So that made me think that when I repent of something and I recieve forgivness that I can retain that forgivness as I daily serve my family in His name. It warms my heart. I sought my soul, But mysoul I could not see. I sought my God, Bur my God eluded me. I soughet my brother, And I found all three author unknown eggs

We usually use more eggs at Easter than at any other time of the year. I want to share my "secret" of perfect FRESH hard boiled eggs every time. The secret is to steam them, not boil them. About 20 years ago I bought an egg steamer from the thrift store. I usually had to save eggs back for a couple of weeks for hard boiled eggs. The first time I used my steamer all I had was fresh eggs, fresh like a few minutes laid. I was so pleased and surprised as I peeled them. They peeled perfectly. I can only remember one time in all of these years that an egg stuck to the shell. When I worked at Red Cliffs, the restaraunt bought my eggs and I told them to steam the eggs and not to boil them. They steam about 2 dozen eggs a day and always have perfect eggs. Another thing I do is to put the steamed eggs into cold water for a few minutes before I peel them. I don't know if egg steamers are still made, but mine is pretty old, so I think I will search and find out. My days are so full, and I am so grateful. Each day is a wonderful gift from the Lord. I'm putting in a new strawberry bed this year Every year I am adding one or two raised beds to garden in. My raised beds are 3 feet high so that I don't have to bend over so much in my old age. I love them. I usually put in my peas the last week of Feb. , but this year has been too wet and too cold! I will be putting them in tomorrow, yea. I love spring. The rebirth of the earth. Everything renewed. I too feel renewed. AN EASTER SONG A song of sunshine through the rain. Of Spring across the snow; A balm to heal the vurts of pain, A peace surpassing woe. And be ye glad at heart, For Calvary and Easter Day, Earth's saddest day and gladest day, Were just three days apart! By Susan Coolidge

This time change has not only aggrivated my sleeping pattern, but my sense of time. Today is Tuesday, all day long I have thought that is was Monday. I have lost a day. Isn't it wonderful that we are given a new 24 hours each day. Each day we can start over again and try to do better than the day before. Just a tiny little minute Only 60 seconds in it. Didn't seek it didn't choose it, But it is up to me to use it, Give Account if I abuse it. Just a tiny little minute, But eternity is in it. I memorized this as a teenage, but I don' know who wrote it. Each day is a wonderful gift from our Savior. Some of us will have many days to experience, for others their days will be few. We should use every minute with eternity in mind.
Faith and Works

I thought this story was a good illustration of faith and works. I once heard the following beautiful illustration of faith and works: a ferryman painted “Faith” in large letters on one of this oars, and on the other he painted, “Works.” When someone asked why, he answered by putting the “Faith” oar in the boat and rowing hard with the “Works” oar. The boat turned round and round and got nowhere at all. Next he put the “Works” oar in the boat and rowed with just the “Faith” oar. The effect was the same: the boat turned round and round, but it went nowhere. He then put both oars, “Faith” and “Works,” into the water, one on each side, and pulled on them together. The boat advanced rapidly straight ahead. “So it is in serving God,” the ferryman said. “We must use both faith and works. Either one alone is useless.”…………..”Signs of the Times”
James 2: 14-20; 22,24,26 14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? 15: If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16: And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20: But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 22:…..and by works was faith made perfect? 24: Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 26: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Malachi 3:3 says; 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they
wondered what this statement meant about the character and
nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over
the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep
his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?' He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.
Pass this on or not, as you choose. But, at this very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.
'Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.'

The Lord has asked us to become like Him. He wouldn't ask us to if it were not possible. It is a life long process and I know I won't achieve it in this life time, but I try everyday to do something a little better. Psalm 8:3-6 3. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4. What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5. For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6. Thou madest him th have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet. Acts 17:28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being…..For we are also His offspring. 3 Nephi: 27:27 What manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am. I was scanning a few blogs the other day and now I can't remember the blog but, I thought of the trip we took to Utah when Jennifer was the baby. She was posting about her 'snack packs'. She keeps a backpack in her car with snacks for her children. And then when they are out and about and its close to lunch or dinner and everyone is hungry, she gives them some things out of the snack pack. She says that she saves money by not getting fast foods. Plus better nutrition for her children. She also keeps water in the snack pack. This brought to my mind our trip. Dad built a 3/4 camper shell to fit the back of our little blue truck. Cori, Deone, and Heather got to ride in the back with the sleeping bags, suit cases, and, as ever, dad's paint supplies. Angelique sat between dad and I. No seat belts in those days, no carseats either. The day we were leaving my friend came by and gave us 4 shoeboxes filled with goodies! One for each one of the girls. Crayons, little coloring books, life savers, and I can't remember it all. What a wonderful idea that was. I know everyone was thrilled to have some distraction from the long trip. I think that along with our 72 hour kits a snack pack is a good idea. I have 4 backpacks in my closet. Ready if ever needed. The first day of each new year I go through the 72 hour kits and replace or add to, ready for the next year. It only takes a few minutes, and I then have the peace of mind that I am prepared if i ever need it. On the way home we stopped by Levan and looked at our "new" house. Jennifer was 3 months old when we moved to Levan. What do you older girls remember on Levan? The rest of us would love to hear what you remember. family birthdays

We had a family birthday party at our house yesterday. It was so nice to get together with family and visit. We celebrated Deone's, Jeff's, Spy's and Abigail's birthdays. The Dyers are going to host the March birthdays. We look forward to doing this monthly if possible. Scripture Sunday

This blog is dedicated to You, my children. I hope it will be a gathering place for us to share our thoughts and feelings, pictures, upcoming events, what the grandchildren are doing, any needs, prayer requests, what ever we can do to keep in close contact with each other. When we visit Dads grave we will take some pictures and one of you can show me how to add them to this blog so those of you who live so far away can see them. I have a calendar for March which I will post it at the end of the month .
