Eventual Homesteader

• Thursday, February 21, 2008 - Winter

Old man winter has struck again. Not that I mind, really. I'm warm, dry and well fed. I had to drive home through the storm yesterday. My mil was concerned and had us close the store early. I get a little tickled when she gets like that. I think she assumes that because she can't drive in the snow, that no one else can. I have all wheel drive, and I don't drive like an idiot, I'm pretty safe. I got home in one piece, although I was behind and accident. Some young guy in a Neon hit a tanker hauling chicken feed. He must have been going too fast. It didn't hurt the tanker, but the guys car was demolished. They were both out walking around, so that's good that they weren't hurt.

Last night we kept walking out to look at the lunar eclipse. It was quite spectacular. I had never seen one before. I had seen a solar eclipse a few years ago, but not a lunar eclipse. The last couple times a lunar eclipse was visible in my area, it was cloudy or storming and I missed it.

Today, when I found out we were closed, yay for snow days, I went back to bed. Terrible, I know. I went back to snuggle with my Sweetpea. He likes to wake up with me there. He says it makes him smile. So we snuggled in bed for a good long while this morning. I must say it was nice.

I called the bank today, since I hadn't heard from them. The lady said that she has been busy with another project and hasn't had a chance to follow up with anyone yet. I'm not sure if that was good or bad. She was nice, but I don't know if it was genuine niceness, or fake.

I had to rip out my latest knitting project. Argh! I am making a new sock, the pattern is called Monkey by Cookie A. on Knitty.com. It's really awesome. I have the coolest yarn to make the socks with.  I digress. I had to rip it out because I held the tension too tight. I was all the way to making the foot, it is a top down pattern, but it was too tight. I couldn't get my foot in it once I started making the foot. It was fine while it was just the leg. I have long feet, really long feet. So, I'll have to start over. Oh well, it's not like I don't enjoy knitting. A friend from Fairmont asked if I'd like to do a knit along with her on a different sock pattern. Sure, why not? It will be fun.

Hopefully I'll hear from the bank with a job offer soon. I really would like to work there. I've spoken to a couple different people who work for  that particular bank and they love it. I think it would be a good place to make a career.  Well, this has turned into a novel.
Hope all is well with my friends out in cyberspace.
