• Monday, February 4, 2008 - Rude People

I went to the grocery store today, no big deal, right? All through the store I saw things out of place. There was a piece of a banana peel on the shelf with the rice. There were candy bar wrappers on the floor. I thought to myself, "Man, they really need to clean this store!" Then I got in the checkout line. I found the culprits of the mess. The people had a small boy, maybe three years old, in the cart. He had the rest of the banana peel, an empty bottle of Pepsi, two half eaten candy bars, half of an apple and I don't know what else. Then his mom squeezed past me to the drink coolers to get more pop and drank it all before she even let the guy ring it up!
Honestly, have you ever seen such behavior? I would not dream of doing it. I would NEVER have been allowed to eat something before I paid for it as a kid. As a matter of fact I accidentally walked out of the store with a candy bar when I was five. I honestly thought my mom paid for it. She made me take it back and apologize.
I guess what I'm getting at is that I was really appalled by these people. Not only did they have no respect for the store, but they clearly didn't care. I'll bet they even ate more things than I saw, and didn't pay for any of it. Since they obviously didn't pay for the banana.
Is our society that messed up now? Can you just walk into a store and eat things, without buying them? I know the cashier saw what they were doing, but he didn't say a word. I'm sure he just didn't want a conflict. If it had been me, when I worked at Kroger in high school, I would have said something. In fact, once our manager made it a point to tell us about that kind of thing. If we saw that a kid had eaten an apple or banana we had to make the parents bring us another piece to be weighed so they could pay for it. Then we were to ask them to take their business elsewhere. Since it was tantamount to stealing. Which is really what these people did today.
I don't know why that bothered me so much, it just did.

How rude!! That little boy doesn't know any better, but it is up to the parents to teach their child to act better than this at least in public!!! I can't believe some of the people who are having children now a days who let their children act like this!!!!

That is so wrong. What are they teaching their children? It is ok to to eat and not pay for the food, it is ok for them to rob the store in plain sight. The only time we have ever drank anything before we paid for it, is when my daughter was short on suger having an attack(hypoglc), we got in line she drank it while in line we paid and then went back to our shopping. Now we carry medicine to help her.
God bless. mj

We have opened stuff in the store for MIL when her blood sugar was dropping. But we kept it right at the front of the cart in plain sight and paid for it when we checked out. As for eating fruit and stuff with no bar code, NO EVEN WAY. That's just unreal.

A) This behavior is becoming the norm. Why? Because from kindergarten through college kids are being indoctrinated with the "entitlement complex". They are taught that they are 'entitled' and this is the 'fruit' you get from the 'entitlement tree'.

B) 2 Timothy 3

C) These are the same people that when they dine out, their kids trash the place throwing food on the floor, walls, and all over the table, then have the audacity to say "hope you have good bleach" (speaking of the table cloth) and leave a 15% tip. The world, my dear, is full of them.

D) TV / Magazines / Radio / Self-Help Books / Peer Pressure / Youth Group / Girl Scouts / Modern Pschyciatry / YOU NAME IT..........all of these things perpetuate the "self esteam, feel good" garbage. Once you buy into it.......it consumes you. And we are bombarded with it from all sides.

The world is full of this. Full of it.
With our Free Will, we humans chose sin like it's going out of style. It's comfortable, it's easy, and it's quick, if not instant gratification.
Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction!

Totally rude!!!!

We've never allowed our children to eat anything without first paying for it. They finally get whatever we've bought when we are all loaded in the Burb. I always tell them, it's not ours until we pay for it.

They also do not pick up little things from the floor..such as flowers that have fallen from floral arrangements....it's not ours.

Today, at Wal Mart, a man ran into a display filled with boxes of Hamburger Helper. He muttered something about them being in his way and walked on by. My girls went right over and picked it all back up. They couldn't believe how rude this man was...accidents happen, but you don't create a mess and then leave it for someone else to pick up.

Grrr....we are a self absorbed society. If only we could think of others before ourselves in EVERYTHING, how much better life would be....

Love ya!
