Dangly Earrings

{ 07:00, Tuesday, January 2, 2007 } { Posted in Fun Stuff } { 7 comments } { Link }
I made earrings today, nothing too fancy, but it satisfies the urge to create! I am thinking of taking a beading class to learn to work with wire so I can string things like freshwater pearls, which have a smaller hole than these kinds of beads.
These are cobalt blue millefiori beads, with small spacers & french hooks, all sterling silver. Would be neat to make and sell these on eBay, but you know there are thousands of them already there like this. The good thing is you can find beads like this on eBay for less. I paid maybe 50 cents a piece for these beads in the store.
I should add my friend Deb taught me how to do this using a simple pin and some round-nose pliers. You simply slip the beads on the pin, and then make a little hook and put them on some ear wires.

The deep blue did not come out in this photo, sorry! Also, I would like to learn how to wrap the extra wire at the top around the hook. Anyone know how to do that? Seems like it should be simple.

Kids are back to school today, life goes back to normal.... have not taken down the Christmas tree yet. How is everyone else doing? Thanks for stopping by...

I love those earrings! I would love to learn myself so if you find a class, cheap, let me know. The boys missed their sister. I heard "where's Kaleigh?" a few times today when they forgot she was at school. I will start work when I find a teaching position. Usually in late August, when school starts. For now I think I will sub on Tues and Fridays to make some much needed money. Talk soon.

I love the earrings! I'm a blue girl, so they appeal to my love of blue. I am really fond of freshwater pearls. There is such a variety in them-you could make some really pretty pieces with them. You're off to a great start from the look of those earrings.

I am bringing back beads for my beading friends so now I can add you to the list. My blog seems to be back up--I was so frustrated and I think iwas also just angry in general over the loss of TErry. Angry , not at God or her death, but angry that iwasn't there to mourn her with my friends as i told you in email.
love you and miss you....

Did I ever tell you I love the name of your blog. I just love the 'dangerous' part. As for the beautiful crafting you are doing.It looks really nice. It would be nice if I could still put a thread into a needle without a needle threader tool. I doubt even then if I could get the needle into the eye of the bead and tie off. I just enjoy looking at your beautiful handiwork. Sincerely, Brenda p.s. How is your remodeling coming along? You already know that mine is getting nowhere very quickly..lol.
