Yard Art

{ 02:06, Saturday, December 16, 2006 } { Posted in House News } { 6 comments } { Link }
My daughter Natalie believes those blow-up decorations are just the coolest things. She loves this "yard art." Last year for Christmas she received a snowman as a gift... and this year, as most of our stuff is now in storage, we could not find him. I gave in and purchased a $30 snowman at Wal-Mart a few days ago, the last one, and one of the only ones I've seen that aren't $100+.

Here he is in the dark, the photo came out blurry but I've posted him just the same...

By day he becomes a puddle of nylon - when you unplug him, it's like hitting the wicked witch of the west with water. He just melts away until he joins all the other puddles of plastic and nylon in the neighborhood!

Since you can see it a bit behind the snowman, I thought I'd post an updated house photo, too. My brother has put all the windows in and is working on the siding, a nice sage green color. We will have a new cranberry colored door to match soon... Some of the windows have been added now, but are intended for future use. For example, the little one to the left of the door downstairs is now sitting BEHIND the shower of the current bathroom! Later on it will still be in the bathroom, but obviously not covered up.

Hoping to wrap up our Christmas shopping today... and begin literally wrapping what we've got. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Your house looks like a beautiful work in progress! You must be so excited! Our girls love the inflated "yard art" :O) also...unfortunately living in the city we haven't a place to put anything of that size. (Though our neighbors have things lit up like the 4th of July!! :O) I hope you have a wonderful time shopping and wrapping!

God bless,
Kelley

Your daughters snowman is too cool. My kids love them. They are mostly taken by the snow globes. I didn't really want to up the electricty bills anymore so I have refrained from buying one but with there love I think I will hit the after Christmas sales and get one for next year.

Looks like your home will be completed before mine. It's going to lovely and I am happy for you. I'm glad that your daughter understands that these types of decorations are for outside and not for the living room.
Need I say more.
Sincerely, Brenda

Hey Chris! The house looks great (and of course the snowman too)! I love the color of the siding and I can't wait to see it with the new cranberry door. When does it come?
