Today was my last day at work, and now I embark on a new phase of my life. I will spend more time with my wonderful husband, my children and grandchildren. We have 5 grandchildren here for the night as usual on Friday. We played the game Apples to Apples, laughed and had a good time. My granddaughter baked a wonderful apple cake with apple cinnamon topping for my birthday tomorrow. I'm excited for Monday to see what it feels like to not have to go to work I have started quilting on my next quilt. Next week we will have the grandkids stay Thanksgiving night and then put our Christmas tree up on Friday. I'm looking forward to being off work for the holidays. A great day!

The sun is shining and it's just a little cool outside. Can't ask for much better on Nov. 14th. Four of our grandchildren spent the night last night. As I said before, any who want to can stay on Friday nights. We took them to breakfast this morning, and now the two older are helping Grandpa get things marked to take to the antique mall where we have a small space. The quilt that is my background is one I finished that 7 generations of our family worked on. Once I get good enough I will post a picture of it. My mother showed me the squares one day and said my great great grandmother, my greatgrandmother and grandmother had made, and it was neat how you could tell by the hand sewing and fabrics. I put it together then my mother and granddaughter each quilted a square, my daughter and daughter-in-law put the binding on and I finished quilting it. Back with a new username

My blog is still The Quilt Square, I just changed my username. Today was beautiful, sunny and about 54 degrees. I had to work, but still got to enjoy the beautiful weather through my window. The days are getting much shorter and the leaves are not so pretty anymore. It will soon be time to enjoy a cup of tea or hot cider while reading or working on crafts. I've already begun to think about decorating for Christmas as the grandkids have started practicing for church Christmas programs. It's getting very late so will add more at a later date. Just wanted to get started again. |
