Middle of the night musingsWell, here we are w/ 3 days to go and I woke up @ 2 AM. I've been online "geeking" for a while now, and am starting to feel sleepy again. (making a list of the 100's of things I'm not to forget in the next few days really helped, I think) One of the lists I've made is of all the furniture we own. It helped me re-think how we could use things in the new place. I think the cabinet that has been a printer stand in this house may become the new TV stand (if Al thinks it won't be tippy... he gave me the look The "tippy desk" as it's now been dubbed, may go in that little nook by the stairs for computer space (w/ one of the storage cubes we used as seat for the checker table as a chair/ filing cabinet... OR I'll put it up in the loft for the girls to use as a vanity table for their dress up girly stuff... we're going to have a family room in the basement by the woodstove (I'm tempted to just put the TV down there in the armoire and be done w/ the whole mess, but, alas, no outlets...) And which ever table doesn't go in the kitchen will be down there as well, forming the new CRAFT-A-PALOOZA area! This is where my scrapbook stuff, the girls' arts & craft supplies (E would like an easel like a real painter...who knows...) sewing supplies (once outlet issues are resolved...) and maybe eventually homeschool stuff will go. Oh! and all our books can finally come out of hiding and go on shelves down there too!! (we're planning on making that "extra" 850 sq ft of basement work HARD!!! lol! I figure hubby gets the 20 x 60 greenhouse to convert to a shop/garage so the girls & I get CRAFT-A-PALOOZA. We're also finishing off rooms to have a 3rd bath eventually (already plumbed) and a guest room(or x-tra BR for girls if we need it to replace the one we'll be converting to a mudroom upstairs.) Also a true basement/ storage area w/ our emergency supplies/ etc... in the portion of the basement that's tucked against the hill w/ no windows... (the rest is walk out..really a regular floor to the house...) recent tornado warnings make me glad we'll have the basement! As for the not shopping thing, but needing window coverings... I found bamboo roman shades online @ Target that are reasonably priced, and good looking, so I will probably go with something like that. I just can't wait to MOVE!!! Then I can putter around and try all these things out, and won't be up at 4:30 in the morning working it all out in my head!! SO I guess I'll go try to get a bit more sleep, I'm sure computing in the dark is bad for your eyesight... Peace~ Shari Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 160 of 339 } { Next Page } |
