Monday Musings

Wow.  Moday's here and it seems surreal after the craziness of yesterday.  Our church (most of us) chose to leave The Episcopal Church, USA and join the Anglican church under CANA (Convocation of Anglicans in North America)  We knew it was coming, but what an emotional roller coaster the act of doing it turned out to be.  Exciting, yet sad at the same time.  Poor Jo, when we told her we'd no longer be meeting in the same church building, said, "but, Mama, I wanted to learn to ring the bell!"  And Meg just kept asking "WHY?!?!?"  (Why would a church not follow Jesus and the Bible, mama??? - it seems so simple, doesn't it???)  Such hard things to explain to young children.

So.

Today we actually have nothing on our calendar.  I plan on doing some laundry, and catching up on some schoolwork w/ the ladies.  Oh, wait, I just realized E has b-ball practice at 7, it's just not on the calendar, so I guess we do have SOMETHING!  Oh well.  I hope to cook a real meal out of the freezer tonight, as we're tired of eating out (on the run no less)  And, of course, I'll be packing.  I'm almost done, one week ahead of schedule.  Unlike everyone who thought this would be a bad thing, I think it will give me a chance to catch my breath a bit before doing this all again in reverse.  What a crazy two weeks.  Man, I'm tired.

we still need to pack:

a few more things of the girls (the rest of the piles on their floors, honestly)

Al needs to finish packing up tools & the garage (I think he's almost done)

the rest of the kitchen (last minute, as is groceries, basic dishes, etc...)

we need to take the hutches apart, mirror off the dresser, stuff like that

electronics (probably last minute as well)

basics in the bathrooms (tp, towels, shampoo)

master closet extras (Al owns 2 suits?  Who knew!!)

cleaning supplies

Really not much.

The weather is beautiful today (supposed to be near 70!) so I think we'll take everyone to the greenway for a "nature walk' we NEED some downtime.  I hope you all have a great and PEACEFUL week!

God Bless!

Shari

Thank you for the kind words on my blog. Is that profile photo your new home? It's adorable! On a side note, my husband and I took a trip to visit some family in central Tennessee a couple years ago when we were courting and really enjoyed our time there. We hope to go back again soon. I am sorry to hear of your church trouble, and completely understand why you need to leave. These type of things seem to be happening in churches of all denominations more often these days, as men seek to complicate Jesus' message and crowd out basic Biblical teachings with extra nonsense. May God bless your family for following Him as you begin your new path in the Anglican church.

My husband's family are Episcopalian and their church decided also to leave and join the Anglicans....we are in Virginia. Such a sad thing that the churches feel that they have to "conform" to the sins of the world to bring/keep people in Christ :o(
