The Downey's Own Little Piece of Heaven on Earth

• Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - Where does time go?

I can't believe how long it's been since I've come to post.  Our work schedules are now overlapping-- we seem to work, sleep and be awake at totally opposite times.  When one sleeps, the other works, or is awake keeping things in order, and vice versa.   I haven't been able to sit down and share what's happening here in far too long.

Although there is snow on the ground now, I've got a few pictures to share.  Shawn was cleaning out the chimney in early October and took some neat pictures from the roof while he was up there.   They show the yard, the pond, the barn, and towards the hills to the south.

Below, are some autumn photos in the area just a week or so after the ones above.   Fall came quick, and winter even quicker!

I've got a few photos of the first snow on my camera. As soon as I've got them uploaded I'll post them.   We've got a few inches on the ground, and ice starting on the pond.   I'm hoping we don't get the snow here that they got last year.  I'd really like my first winter here to be mild!!

Right now it's snowing like the dickens at my house here in northern NH ~ you in the rain or snow belt today?
val

Views from your house are beautiful, love the pond! We have a creek running by the yard, but I would love a pond!

Yes, we've got rain and snow, yesterday and today. And talk about wind!!!! Our pond is very nice. It's got a lot of catfish and smaller fish in it. Very pretty- it's one of the things that attracted us to the house. There are a lot of houses in this area with ponds- it's really neat!
