Yesterday was a rough day for me with wild life. The night before didn't get much sleep my hip was hurting really bad. That was do from climbing up and down the ladder while painting. So I tried to sleep in alittle. So Dew our farm dog wanted to go out at 7:30 I told him no wait a bit momma was tired. I fell back asleep @ 8 oclock something hit our front door hard its all glass well dew was sleeping inside on the same door . Then he starting barking and carrying on. I jump up out of bed let him out he jumped off the steps not even touching I don't think. And there sets a batam up on the hand rail on steps. I thought that is odd they never sit there. So I went to grab my camera walk out on step he still stood there I took a picture he didn't move. So I went to pick him up thinking he was stuck.. Well he flew off and scared me about to death. So I think either a hawk came down trying to get him . Or a fox was after him..
Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it. lol The day before all this ,I took a few pictures of the chickens out for a walk.

These chicken are out for a walk on a nice day.. looking for some green grass.
I forgot to add Dew the farm dog protects our chicken he doesn't let anything hurt them if he can help it. If the chicken go to far from the farm dew runs and barks get them back where they need to be. He is a great dog.
Great pictures!

Great pictures! I love the picture of the chickens walking on the path.
My old rooster, Malarki, used to perch on the porch railing outside our kitchen window and crow. LOL. I'll have to dig up a picture, he was such a ham. I miss him now that he's gone. He was a gag gift for our 'shotgun' wedding and we had him for 8 years.
Thank you for sharing the pictures...I like seeing the snow, I think ours is gone for the season (but you never know in Michigan).
Hugs,
Lisa

So nice that you made a little path for your chickens. :O) We woke up today with one less guinea than we had yesterday. We're not sure what got it, but there was a mess of feathers in one of fields so our dog is sleeping outside tonight to keep an eye on things!

I LOVE the trail that the chickens were walking on. I love my "girls" As long as they leave my flower garden alone :- )
My rooster is really good when he notices a potential problem (hawk, fox, strange dog) He immediately starts making a wierd sound and then his "girls" go to playing possum. Instand freeze!
Isn't it amazing how God gave these animals such instincts of protection?
BTW, I LOVE your blog. Don't leave! I enjoy your posts and pictures!
Have a blessed day in The Lord!
