Gingerbread recipe from( Diana Rattray) +picture

This recipe was posted by Grandma Rosie's but its from Diana Rattray but I made it and took a picture of it today.. Its smells so good in here this morning between roast in crockpot and the choco chip cookies I made earlier..
Here is the Recipe

Gingerbread
2 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup molasses
3/4 cup hot water
1/2 cup butter room temperture
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation:
Grease and flour 9 inch square baking pan and spray with a baking spray with with.
Heat oven 325
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl;beat on low speed of electric mixer until ingredients are combined.
Scrape the sides of the bowl and increase mixer speed to medium;beat for about 3 minutes longer. Pour the batter into the prepare baking pan.
Bake for 45-55 minutes,or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Cut into squares and serve with freshly whipped cream. To serve left over gingerbread warm slightly in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds.
This gingerbread freezes well: cut into squares and wrap..

My dh loves ginger bread, mostly for breakfast. So I make it lots, and I put a glaze on top for sweetness. I mix powdered sugar and condensed milk together and mix untill desired thickness. I also add a drop or two of red food coloring to the mixture, something my dh finds appealing, LOL...............Kitty
