I made Laundry Soap with my twist using Crystal Miller recipe..
Recipe
1 bar Fels Naptha
1 cup washing soda
1 cup borax
Grate soap

Put soap in sauce pan add 12 cups water heat until soap melts

Add washing soda and borax stir until dissolved

Once that is all dissolved remove from heat
Pour 8 cups hot water in bucket

Now add your soap mixture and stir

Now add 2 gallons plus 12 cups water and stir
Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will jell.
Use 1/2 cup per load or adjust it to how much if you have less.
Here is the finish product is kind of hard to see

NOTE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The finished soap will NOT be solid jell. It would be kind of like egg noodle soup.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The soap is low sudsing if you don't see suds that's ok suds aren't what make it clean its the ingredients in the soap.
Now I did use mine for a small load of whites last night and they came out really good....
I made a double batch.. Ray and I figured what I paid for everything I what I made almost a five gallon bucket it cost $2.65 yea..
Hope you have enjoyed this and thanks for stopping by..
I have been making this soap for awhile and love it too. I do want to try and experiment by adding some lavendar scent to it but do not know yet what to buy and how much to add, since I too make a 5 gallon bucket. Maybe soon, I will figure it out.
Next time I make the soap I will add a scent but 5 gallons makes so much for two adults I will be sharing with family..
Thanks for stopping by..
Good for you! That is basically the same as my recipe. I use ivory soap instead of fells. I've been using it for 5 years and love it. :-)
Hi, I have used Crystal's recipe for over a year now. And I just love it. However, with 3 growing boys, I make the full 5 gal bucket. It usually will last me for about a month or more. I just love knowing that there are more ladies making their own laundry soap. I do not know anyone around here that makes their own. I'm on my own here. My next venture is to make soap. I can't wait. Have a blessed day! Elizabeth
