We here @thecfarm have been so busy, they finished up our outside wood furnace today. I'm so happy now we have all the free hot water we want. Our garage has heat and all the water in the house and our hot tub. Our basement as well. It was a big job. I was busy canning today and making choc chip cookies. I got the recipe for the cookies off from Kitty blog they taste really good. I hope to post pictures tomorrow. Along with the canning I did. I took peppers, garlic, carrots, tomatoes and mix it together and put them in qt jars I got (12) qts today. It will be the base for my soup starter this winter when old man winter is howling and the snow is falling. The trees are starting to color up and garden is starting to die down. Most of all my flowers are gone for this year. Well almost time for me to hit the hay.. Good night and thanks for stopping bye. haflinger

So glad the funance is in......don't you have to load it twice a day? But since you have so many trees, free wood....... all the warm heat and hot water will be great.
Were having another warm spell, so we got red tomatoes today from the garden and some had ripen on the porch. I also got peppers(small) but glad to get them. I do peppers, onions and tomatoes, cook till tender and then I freeze for winter.
We decide to leave one day early for our trip to the ocean and stay over night in the mountians. So we leave Sun and come back Fri. So looking foreward to our trip. We have gone through this town but never got to travel around and enjoy it. I love where we live but I do miss the trees so I like to go places where they have lots of trees.
Our flowers are looking great, its the garden that look terrible. Even thought we watered lots of things just turned brown. We won't get corn or green beans.
Hi Jo on the furnace we will fill once a day depends on weather. But Have threw in 3 big chucks it was still burning. The furnace takes a 4 foot piece of wood. Will email you soon..

We had talked about an outdoor wood furnace back north. I've seen a few folks with them down here, but I don't know that we'll get one here. It just doesn't seem that terribly cold....at least not to us, with what we are used to.
I can't wait to hear what you think of it after winter is over.
