Yesterday Ray and I went to farm days on the way back we stopped at an antique shop and I found this White treadle sewing machine in great condition and only $65.00 it works but I need help and info on treading it. I have a treadle singer but this one is different. In the pictures it will show patent date. It shows staring with March 20 1877 and ends with March 11 1890. I couldn't find a date on mine but I'm so excited.
I need help on threading it if anyone out there can help me that would be great or give me info on where I might find info..
Sit back and enjoy the pictures.. haflinger
Sorry having a hard time to post a picture..Will insert as soon as I can find it..

I can't wait to see the picture, although of ALL the household chores, I hate sewing.. I blame my 7th grade home ec teacher for this, she was mean, and nasty and always made me feel like i couldn't do anything right while sewing, which I couldn't, but you don't tell an child that.. Good luck with it.

I too have a white treddel. Mine fully works, I just need a belt. If and when you are able to get instructions, would you be willing to share? I'd be most grateful. I've been wnating to learn on it.
Blessings!

Blessings!
It looks an awful lot like my Ruby. (I have three treadles and two handcrank machines) The threading should go around the front post, down to the front where the little hook is above the needle, up through the eye of the bobber then down the side where there should be a small hook or bent piece that you slip the thread (right above the needle) then through the needle. The bobbin, if it's a round bobbin threads like any other machine.
My Ruby is a vibrating shuttle so it's a bit different on the bobbin:). But it looks like yours is a vibrating shuttle too.
You might also want to pull the larger parts off to clean them a bit and reoil things as they will get sticky with age. But you already have a treadle so you probably already know that:)
Hope this helps.
God be with thee!
