We have Boer goats and when we got one of our bucks he had a runny nose for a while. We had to give him a shot of antibiotics. We really don't like doing that but you have to keep them healthy. Some where there is a web site of a lady who treats her goats with homeopathy. But I can't remember the site. Mayb you could do a search.

I have dealt with this a few times and what works the best is go to wal-mart or dollar general and purchase some triple antibiotic ointment and put some directly in their eye...this will not hurt them...its the same stuff you will go pay 12.00 a tube for at a farm supply store..I made that mistake...once.....in about 3 days eyes will be all clear.! :o) I would not give a shot unless necessary...the ointment will do great!

this may not be alot of help but my grandma & father-in-law always said that you can do most treatments that humans use to treat health problems in animals too -- except be careful when the animal can ingest anything that humans shouldn't ingest
for some kittens I had last year that had eye infections I used triple antibiotic ointment (generic human brand) and tea bags (lipton) that had been steep and cooled then rubbed over their eyes -- these both worked with great results on different kittens, and the mother cat didn't get sick from cleaning them either
good luck! =)
