I made Elderberry jelly today and its the first time I made jelly that didn't come out. Now I've been told you can re-batch it but does that mean I have to add pectin again or what? I could use some help here..Thanks..

Now I wouldn't know a thing about rebatching, but Elderberry jelly sounds so yummy!!!!
I have heard friends say if it doesn't come out well, that they have used it as topping for numerous things like pancakes, waffles, french toast, or icecream. Just a thought!

Do you have any photos of elderberry plants/trees? I am curious to know what they are and what they look like.

I see your dilemna, I did a search for rebatching and IKES so many soap directions, even if you put in jelly, jam or preserves. Your jars sealed, didn't they? If so, they may take up to two weeks to gel... that happens to me often with pepper jelly, but it does eventually gel. If you don't find anything, I know my ball or better homes and Garden cannings books talk of rebatching and I can read it and let you know.
Elderberry jelly is toooooo much work to not have it gel up! I have berries in the freezer ready to make jelly myself. I just didn't have time to do it the day they came ripe... I picked and plucked about 1/3 of my berries, then froze the rest on the stems and will pluck at a later time (a tip a gal shared with me last year). Hope you get a good answer.
Warmly, ~Melissa

Wow, where did you get lucky and find the elderberries? Or did you buy them? Hope your jelly turn out the second time.
