You allow God to influence your mind when you spend time with him. Praying, reading the Bible, and letting God change your way of thinking transform you. Then you are speaking God's language, which will help you understand his purposes for you and your family.

Don't make decisions alone. Fill your mind with the Bible, and let God change your way of thinking to his.

• Thursday, September 4, 2008 - Timely Reminder

I have been reading the Foxfire books. If you have never read them you should give it a try. They are about the older people from the Appalachian Mountains. The books contain the wisdom and the crafts of the elders. It has really made me think again about my own life and become more centered. Sort of a reminder of the simple faith we should have. I love to study the Bible and the hebrew and greek word roots and custums etc to further understand the scriptures. I guess this book as just reminded me to hold on to the simple faith that saved me and not get so caught up in the head knowledge. I do not think there is a thing wrong with the head knowledge. I just needed to be brought back to a remembrance of the basics.
