Snake in the house!!!!
I finished reading my bible this morning. I went into the kitchen to start breakfast. I came out into the den to turn the computer on, and I see something in the floor. Surely not! I got a little closer, and sure enough, there was a snake in the floor. I let out a little yelp-not from fear, more because it startled me. Now, I am not afraid of snakes, but DH is another matter. I was more in fear for the snake's life if DH got within 20 feet of the little snake. I tried grabbing the little booger, but he was awful wiggly. It was too early to deal with little mr. wiggly that way. I yelled at DH to bring me a bowl and a spatula. I was going to scoop little mr. wiggly up and take him to a new home out in the yard, but I had to keep DH away, or mr. wiggly would be mr. squished. DH brings me the largest bowl I own (probably holds 4-6 gallons) and a giant spatula. Mr. wiggly was about 6 inches long!!! I asked DH wasn't that a bit overkill, considering the size of the snake? DH replied by yelling at me not to let mr. wiggly get up under the furniture. I shook my head and proceeded to pursue little mr. wiggly. I finally scooped him up in the bowl, took him in the kitchen to investigate him further. Not poisonous, but I already knew that. He was just a little garden snake. DH was telling me not to throw mr. wiggly outside the door, to take him faaaar away. So off I go in my pajamas, out the front door, to the farthest point in our yard to release poor little mr. wiggly.
I said to DH "Aren't you glad you're married to such a brave woman? I rescue you from snakes!" He just stalked off muttering something about the only good snake being a dead snake.
I do wonder how he got in the house, though.......
Blessings to you all,
