Saturday, April 19, 2008 - Death by Chocolate

Posted in In the Kitchen

I have a book on my shelf that as soon as I get done with my award books that I'm judging I'm going to read it.  It is Murder By Mushroom by Virginia Smith.  Anyway we came across this cake and the name is Death by Chocolate I was thinking you know that might make a good book title.  No, I'm not going to write a book.  Not right now at least.  I love to read, but not write so I'll save that for someone else to do.  However, back to the cake, my family loves this cake so I thought I'd share it here with you all.  It is really heavenly!!!  It's one of those wish all good things didn't have to come to an end type of thing.  Hope you all enjoy it.  I'm going to share this recipe and then get off of here and back to reading again.  I didn't read mucy yesterday I up-dated and made some changes to my site.  Hope you enjoy.

Death By Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
1 box of chocolate cake, moist (or recipe for chocolate cake from scratch and all ingredients needed to make cake.)
1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 jar (6-10 oz.) hot fudge ice cream topping
1 (12 oz) cool whip topping - I haven't used the chocolate cool whip yet I keep forgetting to buy it, however I don't see why it wouldn't work.  Keep it all chocolate!!!  It is wonderful with regular cool whip.

Directions:
Make cake as directed on package.  Before putting in pan stir in chocolate chips.  Bake as directed on package.  After cake comes out of the oven using the handle of wooden spoon poke holes all over the cake all the way through to bottom.  Warm hot fudge and spread over cake.  Let cool completely before topping with the cool whip.  (I didn't do this step once and cool whip melted) Store in refridgerator.  Eat and enjoy.  It is absolutely heavenly!!!
