What do you know about Helen Keller?...

In 1887, at the age of 6, Helen meets her teacher, Anne Sullivan, who will devote the rest of her life helping Helen learn to live as a deaf-blind citizen.  Helen grew up to conquer many things in life.  (you can read more about Helen Keller in William Bennett's book:  The American Patriot's Almanac.)

1796 - The US Supreme Court rules on the constitutionality of a congressional act for the first time when it upholds a carriage tax in Hylton v. United States
1817 - The NY Stock Exchange is formally chartered
1965 - The first US combat troops arrive in South Vietnam
