The blessings of motherhood

More than being a Mother

I am having quite a day with the kids.  They are not cleaning their messes, and this is unacceptable.  The Lord says "of whom much is given, much is required"  I am trying to teach them how blessed they are to have all that they have.  So, I am now in the process of taking ALL of their toys away and only leaving one small basket for them to play with.  Of they can keep up with cleaning this one basket of toys when they are asked to clean, then slowly we will re-iintroduce their toys back into their playroom, untill they are all back.  In some ways I feel bad b/c I want them to have their toys to play with.  They are my babies, and as their mother I want  to give them every good thing.  But there is more to being a mother than giving them good things.  It is our jpbs to raise and train them to be honest, dilligent, and acceptable to the Lord.  To transfer their obidience from us to God.  If they cannot obey us, their earthly oarents, then how are they to obey their Heabenly father whom they cannot see?  I am sure this will be a lot of work, but I know with the Lord's help we will see a harvest of blessings from this.

Obedience

I have 14 children and I insist on first time obedience. Speak once and expect an action. Children can be trained to react to your voice and behave accordingly. Great job. Stick with your gut.
