This is my first year of actually canning anything and yesterday afternoon my mom came down and helped me learn how to can tomatoes. I must admit that I enjoy doing things like this and will continue to do it year after year. We purchased the tomatoes from the Farmer's Market in Asheville. I purchased two boxes of canning tomatoes for $6.00 a box. I will probaly have to end up going back to get another box because I am also planning on canning some spaghetti sauce. So far we have made eight jars because my mom had to go to Visitation of a death of a member of her church. I am going to can some more today. Well I do believe that I am done for right now.
