My name is mj and I am Shannon's help meet.  Shannon is a Mr. Command Man, as described in Debi Pearl's book.   Some times it is hard to be a wife of a Command Man, if you are a strong dominant woman.   I am just about as hard headed as Shannon.  It took me years to give him the head of the household role and I do mean YEARS!   But it was all worth it!   To have him in charge of it all is such a weight off me. 

But some times there are problems.  An example is with our older daughter Shayna.  Shayna is a very good girl, but boy is she strong willed, I have no clue where she got that from .   The problem was Shayna spoke to me rude and then to her dad.  He and I talked to her about it but stopped when it was dinner time.  Shannon said he would talk to her again after dinner but did not.   That was hard for me because it was not resolved.  I wanted it done and over with.

It was hard for me to not say something about his not talking to her more.  He knew I wanted to say it, but did not.

This blog is a part of my journey of working everyday on being the help meet Shannon needs and God wants me to be.

Moose for sale.  As Shayna was listing some books for sale on E-bay her cat Moose was helping out.  Yup he wore some stickers that said 50% off and 75% off.  I think he thought he was worth more as you can tell he was not happy about his price .

Kristi is a bad girl .  While we were out shopping she picked up on 3 guys, three!!!

Who says shopping at Sam's with a cell phone is not fun .  Kristi and I had a blast .  But really Kristi you need to stop picking up new boy friends when we shop.  LOL

Shayna wants to got to cooking school.  Fine, but the school wants us to pay for the whole thing.  The grants they offer is only 5 thousand.  It will cost 55 thousand for her to go for 21 months.   That means the payment will be 22 hundred a month.   The offer the parents loans and such.    We have an appointment next week to see about her going and what all it will take to get her in.   Pray for us.

We started school yesterday and it is going ok.  Kristi does not like her bible study , it has to much stuff of marriage.   So I have to find a new bible study.   Other wise it is going good.  One thing she loves about being home schooled is we can us everyday things for classes.  Kristi loves p.e. because she gets to ride her horse for it.  It is hard work to learn how to ride english after riding after riding western for 13 years. 

Do I ever tell how Kristi got started riding??     I do not think I did so I will tell now:   When Kristi was 3 years old I was working at a race horse rescue.  Kristi went to work with me.  She loved to help feed and water and help me with the vet care.  She had away of making the horse relax while I was doing this like cleaning wounds , stitching them up.  Kristi also had away calming the horse fresh off the track that were highly drugged going threw withdrawals. 

 After awhile Kristi just ran around like she owned the place.  She would help everyone out she could and just go in pastures and pet and love them.  It was cute to see this tiny 3 year old girl going from horse to horse , under their legs.  The horse took care of her.

  One day she was off in with King he was a 19 hand gelding , next thing I know a barn worker come running to me yelling that Kristi is on King.   I run to go see what was going on and yup she was on King.  He was running with her on his back.   No bridle, halter, saddle , but she was on him having a blast.  We all just watched her for awhile then King brought her to me.  I took her off.

  After seeing them a few more times I just left her alone.  Kristi never fell off, how she got on remained a mystery.  We all got use to seeing her going under the horse, riding them.  When we had a new worker they would freak out and come running to us and tell us what she was doing and we just laughed.  They would look at us like we were crazzy , the would tell us what she was doing and we would laugh. 

 After awhile of them watching her they understood.  At 3 years old she had the run of the ranch and rode like a pro.  Yes,  my 3 year old daughter learned how to ride horses on race horse going full speed.   I will look for some pictures of her at work and post them soon.

Kristi worked with me there until she was about 4 and a half then   we started our own animal rescue.

The grand-babies came back last weekend Sunday.  They went to visit their daddy ( Michelle is now saying Maddie belongs to her husband) for a week it ended up being 3 weeks.  We had to pay for Michelle's  gas to go get the kids from Vegas.  Michelle said she did not have enough money to go get them.  Odd a few days before she went to get the babies she went to Disneyland and out to eat and shopping.

We saw the babies for a hour last Sunday and Michelle said she will let us know when we could have them for a day.  The babies cried and had a fit at leaving our home that night they both wanted to stay here.  We got the babies Tuesday until  Wed afternoon.  Friday morning Michelle called me, both of her sisters trying to hunt us down because she was sick of the kids and did not want them.  She said the were crying for us.  So we took the babies.

Michelle just picked them up and was asking if we could take them again next week while she is in court.  Ok, we will watch them but they will stay the night before and what ever we decide to do that day we will do.

Why I said that is we have annual passes to Disneyland (Michelle does not)  and we used to go once a week until I broke my leg.  I told Michelle if we are going that day , we are GOING.    She has a fit over that.   Well, I am sorry but we train service dogs and Disneyland is a good place to work the dogs and who says's we can not have fun with the babies at the same time???  We are only at Disneyland for 3 hours.   Why only 3 hours ?  Well, we do not have to wait in lines.   We get to walk up the exits and get on fast.  So we are able to do so much in a short amount of time.

I told Michelle we are not going to put off schooling or our plans just to please her.  What we are doing that day we are doing.   If she wants us to have the babies on those days she needs to except our plans.  That also includes us going to the lake to kayak.  We have life jackets for the babies and would never let anything happen to the babies.

Hubby and the girls and I just decide we are not going to play her games anymore.  We are going to live our life as we do everyday and not change what we are doing just because the babies are here.  That is how we brought up our girls.  We can take them anywhere and do anything with them because we did that with them.  Now we are going to do it with the grand-babies.

Daddy has always wanted a skunk tail for his truck.  He wants to hang it from his antenna, (ok, he is a red neck )

A few days a go I was checking the old large goat pen to see about moving the goats back and I saw a piece of the fencing that I am going to have to fix.  I noticed there was a dead black animal laying there.  I got close and saw it was a skunk.   I went to the barn and asked the girls if they knew when it died.  They said Midnight a friends dog was on the night before and killed some thing.  I told them about the skunk.  We girls went to check it out and it was a fresh kill.  So I asked where the scalpels were?, out they said, bolt cutters? Dave has them, Why??   Well..........................

Girls daddy always wanted a fresh skunk tail, so I am removing this one.  Kristi was sad , the poor skunk, Shayna ok cool.  I used a shovel and removed his tail.   What do you do with a skunk tail?

We saw both sides of the tail had close to same amount of white on it so we girls voted to do the bottom side.  The side you are to do.

It is still covered in salt until it is cured.  When it is done "cooking as we are calling the process"  I will sew it back up and attach some kind of doohickey so he can hang it from the antenna. My red neck boy/man.

Hubby was so shocked when he guessed what his Prize was!  He was laughing so hard, he could not beleive I took the tail off for him!!

I was laughing and told him that if I was not a farmer / rancher I would have never done it.   I would have NEVER done this if I stayed the person my parnets brought up.   I would have hiered someone to do it !     Sorry mom but I did it .

I am listing a ton of school books for sale on E-Bay.   I have so many that we never used nor will we use as my baby is a Junior this year .  Where did time go ? 

I have many book for women and a few really old books for the kids to read or for someone to collect.

Tomorrow my hubby will turn 40 years old.   He took the day off so we girls can spend the day with him doing what he wants .   We are starting off the day with him sleeping in, then we girls are taking him to Northwoods Inn for lunch, then to the movies to see the new Batman movie.  For dinner we are making his one of his favorites, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob , gravy , rolls.  For dessert chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ice cream.   After the girls are in bed skinny dipping with me .   On Friday we are sending him fishing for the day with his cousin.  We girls already sent him to Mexico for a few days of fishing.  I am blessed that the Lord has sent such a wonderful man to be my hubby.  We have been together for 20 years now , I can't wait to see what the next 20 years bring.
