All she ever wanted
Was to live a natural life
To be a humble woman
A mother and a loving wife

But all her friends seemed happy
To push the feminist hype
Yet all she ever wanted
Was to live a simple life

She noticed other women
Trying to compete with men
Their hard unfriendly faces
Reflected regret within

They had declared man the enemy
Now many lived alone
She didn’t want to inherit
Their bitter hearts of stone

He lived out in the country
And longed for a wife
She was the only thing missing
In his lonely but lovely life

He knew she was out there
She just had to be
He was hoping for to marry
And raise a family

All he ever wanted
Was to live a natural life
To marry a humble woman
And love her as his darling wife

But all his friends seemed happy
To push the uptown hype
That’s why he left the city
To find the simple life

So as they both hoped alone
For the one they never knew
They prayed in their hearts
That their wishes would come true

One day she learned of a people
Who lived in the natural way
Up in the hills of hopefulness
Where the skies seem blue not grey

One day she came to visit
And it felt like she'd come home
She found contented people there
And no longer felt alone

And it came to pass that she met
The man who took her to wife
And now they live with friends
Enjoying the simple life

All they ever wanted
Was to live a natural life
She with a natural man
He with a natural wife

Now they’ve found each other
Everything’s so right
Thier dreams come true
Now they live the simple life

All they ever wanted
Was to live a natural life
She with a natural man
He with a natural wife

Now they’ve found each other
Everything’s so right
The dreams come true
Now they live the simple life
