Starting Over

May 24-May 30

Oh my goodness.... I can't seem to remember what I did last Saturday!  I think it had something to do with laundry, yard work, etc...  hmmm... I'll have to think about that one!  I DID work that morning.  I remember swimming!  We got our pool put up!  It's a 27 foot above ground pool, and it's huge!  And the girls swam so much.... and got sunburns to prove it!

On Sunday we took ALL the girls to Busch Gardens.  It's the first family outing that Kayla was included in.  There were definite, uh, hurdles to jump over.  Beth is jealous of Kayla, Kayla is used to being an only child, Kalena was pms'ing...  but all in all it was a good day.  Beth was finally tall enough to ride every ride there.  She grew that half-inch in the last month.  She was so excited that she got to ride one of the major coasters.

Monday was Memorial Day, and we just hung out around the house, did some swimming, did the bbq thing.  Really relaxed, not much to it... THANKFULLY!

It was the last week of school for my girls.  They had half days all week.  Today is their last day.

We did have a first this week.  Kalena had her first boyfriend.  I say HAD because it only lasted one day.  We also had our first heartbreak.  This boy at school (a 15 yo) asked her to  be his girlfriend, and then talked with her on the phone for two hours that night.  The next day he broke up with her.  She was so heartbroken.  She's gotten over it already, thank goodness.

We were gonna go to Georgia to visit his dad again, but his mom asked us to wait until it was closer to the end.  She understands how tight money is, and knows we can't afford the gas.

Friday, May 30, 2008 - I'm sorry about your father-in-law...

Posted by lancelotacres

I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law. You and your DH and family are in my prayers. My FIL just died on Memorial Day, so we are in similar situations I think.

The blended family thing sounds very complicated but promising. I hope it all works out for you guys, and in a good way :) I'm sorry about your DH's ex, it's so hard when you have to deal with somebody like that on a regular basis.

Can you tell me how tall your DD was to ride the rides at Busch Gardens? We may be going there in August and I'm not sure about my DD. She is 46 inches right now.

Sending hugs,
Lisa

Hey Kim! Lots of stuff going on your way! Gracie & Beth are a lot a like- Gracie's my jealous one too. Beth's been the baby for a long time so I can see why she may have a hard time not owning that role any more. You sound busy!! :)
Love, Alyssa

Friday, May 30, 2008 - gardens

Hi Kimberly! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My gardens are not really doing much of anything right now. I'm being slothful this year. :~) After a couple of years' market gardening, I don't really feel inclined to dive in the way I have in the past.
