The meaning of art......

New addition to the house. I am posting pictures of a painting done by one of our artist friends that now resides in our formal living room. It is a modern painting but in looking at it I feel it has a folk art twist. I know what the painting is suppose to represent but I thought it would be fun to get everyones take on the painting then I would let you in on what the artist was trying to express. It looks like a lake . . . . in a BOWL? LOL

I can see water and reeds around the edge but the bowl thing throws me off . . . .

A lake. And that's my final answer!
