My 1st son Marty died today

Posted on 2008-Nov-7 at 07:21 by m j - 12 Comments - Post Comment - Link

Marty was born on 1-17-1995.  He went home on 11-07-08.   Marty was almost 14 years old.   He has lived a full life and life full of love.   Marty came into our lives in March of 1995 as a 6 week old puppy.  At the young age of 7 weeks old Marty started telling me before I went into anaphylaxis shock.  It took me a few weeks to put two and two together.  When it clicked I began his service dog training.   Marty passed his service dog test at the young age of 11 months old.   Marty kept warning me before I would go into shock and he also warned me that the baby's (Kristi's) breathing was off.   Marty has saved both of our lives numberses times.  Marty gave me the courage to get out in the world again.  I was in the hospital 2-5 times a month and was afraid to go any where.  Marty fixed that, he was my warning to my shock and a warm body with caring eyes saying it is ok mom I am here for you, I wont let you down, he never did. The way he would stop in front of me because he smelled a chemical that I was allergic to, so I would not go further.  I never trained him for that, he just knew. Marty was also a big part of my healing with the loss of my grandfather Bubba.  I never got over his death even today almost 14 years later, I just learned to live with out him here until God calls me home.  We trained Marty to do tricks but not your normal ones.  He would bring you a soda get the phone, get one of his sisters when we asked him too.  You could tell him their name and he would go get that sister.   At the young age of 13-14 months old Marty yet again saved Kristi life when a neighbors dog jumped our fence attacked Kristi by biting her neck, making the front page of our paper.   Marty love to go to Disneyland.  He loved to go on the rides.  Marty was on the news for Disneyland as the first dog to go on the new haunted mansion decorated for the Nightmare Before Christmas the first time they did it.   Marty was Shayna favorite ride partner.  Marty has also been on other news programs and other news papers as well as magazines.  My favorite one is of him at Pismo beach buried up to his head in the sand with his human sisters laughing at what they did. He always enjoyed swimming with us all, even in the ocean.  Marty has always paid extra special attention to Kristi.  He would have her hold on to his tail when ever we went any where.  If she dropped his tail he would stop and turn and look at her until she grabbed his tail again.  Marty was married to Cheyenne for 12 years.  They had many children, how have been excellent pets for families and as well as service dogs.  Marty has always loved puppies and babies, he saw them all as his.  Marty has been the best babysitter for our children and grandchildren.  Marty has loved his human sisters.  They have tortured him.  They have dressed him up, painted his nails,  Michelle used him to keep the other dogs quite so she can sneak out.  Marty has touched so many hearts with his love and friendship.  Many people have come over the last few days to say good bye to him.  We decide to stop Marty's bloodline.  There will be no more puppies from his line, other than as a grandfather to great-great-great grandfather.  Our lives will be less full with out him, but we will see him in heaven one day.    We are happy to know he will be with Jesus and his wife Cheyenne playing in the wonderful garden Jesus has made.

P.s. We just got home from the vet office.  I get there people are waiting and they ask what is wrong with him?  I had to carry him in.  I said nothing just is old and it is his time to go to heaven.  I call out to Linda (his office woman) say he is heavy and go into a room.  The people are shocked that I could do that.   My vet has been my vet for 25 years.   He comes in and I ask him, Robert(vets name) is it time he looks him over and says yes.  I ask him if it is the right choice, he says yes. Kristi gets down to say her good byes and she hurts her eye and Marty in his last moments is still trying to care for his sister by moving to her and try to help her.  The love he has for that baby is amazing.  Kristi leaves the room.  Shayna and I stay.  Robert gets ready I say wait please.  I move to his other side and put his head in my lap and hold his other hand as Robert sends our son home to God his creator.  I stayed and told him over and over how much we all love him and we will see him soon, I stay until I was sure he arrived in heaven.   As I got up to go , I see him laying down and I say " ok, Marty lets go" like I always have when we are going some where.  I am so used to saying that.  It took me a second to remember he is not here with us anymore then I cried even more.  I took me forever to leave him, I just couldn't.   I told Shayna I need go or I never will.  I gave him one more kiss and told him how much I love him and walked out.  Marty is in heaven and his body will be coming home in a few days.  It is verry odd to come home with out him.  We now have 6 dogs on earth with us.

God Bless you all thank you for your prayers.  Could you please keep them going for us for awhile.  We all need to heal from this.             God bless, mj

You may not agree with me that animals do not go to heaven, if so please keep that to yourself.

Voting with the girls

Posted on 2008-Nov-6 at 09:34 by m j - 1 Comments - Post Comment - Link

It was so neat this year with all the voting.  Shayna was old enough to vote and did.  She was pleased to see some of the things she voted for pass and upset that some did not.  She really wanted the no more gay marriage to pass and it did.  She really wanted the ban on schools being able to take young girls to have abortions to pass, but it did not.  She does not understand how they can not give an aspirin with out a parents ok, but they can take them to have abortions???

Her dad and I also voted to stop those both.  Kristi had to pick a proposition to give a speech on in Friday school and she did.  But what is neat is her eyes were opened to so much.  She paid very close attention to the whole event.   This was a great time to be a homeschooling parent.

Tomorrow is the day, prayer needed

Posted on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 08:09 by m j - 2 Comments - Post Comment - Link

Tomorrow is the day.  We will be sending Marty home  tomorrow afternoon.   I am asking for prayer for this.   It is verrry hard on us all to say " I will see you latter" to him.  We are not saying good bye because we believe that animals go to heaven.  They are Gods creation too.  Besides I can not imagine heaven with out hearing the buzzing of the bees , the birds song and seeing all the other wonderful critters God has made for us.

Marty is a 13.5  year old golden.  Marty has saved my life a few times as well as Kristi's life a few times. Marty is a great service dog, the first anaphylaxis dog.   He has put up with his sister dressing him up, painting his nails, to riding him and burring him in the sand with just his head showing.  He has babysat the grand-babies.  Marty taught Maddie not to climb the stairs by every time she would climb past her step he would put her down to her butt and lay across her lap keeping her down.   As for Jeffie he has roughed house with him and was  Jeffie's first pony.

God Bless, mj

Thankful for today

Today I am thankful for the freezer dying.  It made me cook about 30 lbs of deer meat.   The best part is Marty ate some!!

I am thankful for having daughters I can trust to run around and do my errands so I can cook the meat and dinner.

I am thankful that my husband has a good job.

I am thankful for the love that Marty is giving us all during his last days.

I am thankful that by best friend Janet is coming out next week.

Most of all I am thankful God loves me.

P.s. For my nutty daughter Shayna who bought her cat Moose a tie to wear!!  Yesterday he was dressed as a cowboy.   The poor cat loves it too.

God Bless, mj

The freezer repairman kills Wolves

Posted on 2008-Nov-5 at 04:29 by m j - 0 Comments - Post Comment - Link

One of our freezers died last Friday.   We had to throw out about 40 lbs of fish my husband caught on one of his Mexico trip.  The pigs and dogs got a lot of meats and breads, they were in hog heaven.  We saved some stuff by putting it in the garage freezer and left a few things in the broken freezer with dry ice.

Well today the repair man came and tried to make friends with the wolves.  He asked about Arthur if he was pure?  I said yes he is just short.  What is the other wolf mixed with he asked ?  Then went on to tell me how in his country he loved to kill wolves !!   Hellooo, you are trying to make friends with my wolves as they are trying to get you.  Maybe they since that he likes to kill their kind.  This man was putting his hand next to their run!!  There is a huge beware of dogs sign on the run, I told him Arthur not friendly to people until he gets to know them.  Faith just melts when any one gives her loves, just do not hurt Kristi when she is around!!!   The wolf run is in our back yard where you can only get to it from the family room back door.

So he tells us that the freezer need a certain part and it will take 3-5 days to have it come in then a few days to come out and put it in.  It will be a different guy not the wolf killer, thank God.

God Bless all, mj

Grand-babies and Marty

Posted on 2008-Nov-4 at 10:53 by m j - 0 Comments - Post Comment - Link

Michelle went to daddy's work today with her friend to pick up her friends boy-friend.  Shannon gave him a job.  Michelle is rude when she is there.  She has the my daddy is all of yours boss and treats the people that way.

The good new he was told while she was there is that the Grand-babies are coming home in 2 weeks!!!  Yup the are coming home early!!!  We are so happy, we miss the little buggers!!  So here are the cute little words they say ; like Maddies lub,lub (love, love)  and Jeffie has to be in his pot (spot on Bubba's shoulder where he loves to sit).   It is so funny we miss them so we talk like them!

As for Marty he was doing better (thank you for all the prayers).  Today he will not eat at all.  My best friend Janet is coming out on the 13th to see me with my other daughter Mya (ok she gave birth to her, but we claim each others children as our own).   We were hoping that Marty will be here to see them but I do not know.   This is soo verrrry hard!   We will keep him here with us until he is suffering or in pain.   He is not at this time, thank you God.

Marty has touched hundreds of lives.  He has touched my family in such a way that no one could ever fill his paws.   I feel blessed to have one of his daughters Hope who is now 9 years old and one of his granddaughters Faith with us.

I ask for more prayer for Marty and us.  We can feel it.  Thank you so much for them all.

God Bless, mj

More surgery

Posted on 2008-Nov-2 at 08:45 by m j - 1 Comments - Post Comment - Link

I have more surgery coming up soon for my leg.   It is not to remove a screw like we all thought, nope.   It is to remove a almost 1/2 long bone spur that is on my ankle, ankle bone to be exact.

I have to be awake for the surgery!  The Dr. will numb my skin and clip off the bone spur until it is down to the right size.  As soon as I know the date I will let everyone know.

God Bless, mj

Marty's up date 11-02-08

Posted on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 07:57 by m j - 2 Comments - Post Comment - Link

Marty is still here with us all.  He is eating some, he loves the raw turkey.  We give him as much as he will eat.   Shannon and I talked about Marty the other day.  We decided to let him die at home around all of us.  Marty is not in pain nor is he suffering.  All he wants is to be with us.   If it turns to he is in pain or suffering we will have him put down.

It is so funny he is comforting us!  Here we are doing the same to him. But he makes sure we know he loves us.  What a blessing he is to us all.

God Bless, mj

The games she plays

Posted on 2008-Nov-2 at 07:43 by m j - 1 Comments - Post Comment - Link

The games she plays.  Michelle is the one who I am talking about.   She does these  stupid little games to get to us only it does not!  Michelle gets frustrated when we do not play her games.

Like today Michelle called about an hour before we were to leave for church to invite dad and I out to lunch with Gill parents.  We would have liked to go to met Gills parents but Michelle wanted to go out at 11:30.  Our service starts at 11:30.  Michelle knows this as it has been at the same time for the last 12 years!

And like the time she called us to go to her sonogram 2 hours before it.  Other people knew for up to two weeks before.

One thing is we are kinda worried to get to close to Gill's parents, because there is a chance this baby is not his.  There are two other men who can be the father.

Michelle would break Gill's parents heart if this baby comes out someones other than their sons.  They have gotten very attached to our grand-babies.  They have given Michelle a home and support her and the Grand-babies.

We love Michelle but we are there for the grand-babies right now. Michelle can do what she wants.

God Bless, mj

Update on Marty & Disneyland , Church, school

Posted on 2008-Oct-30 at 07:29 by m j - 1 Comments - Post Comment - Link

Today Marty is doing better.  I think it is from all the prays we are receiving.  Thank you to all of you.

Marty is eating today and he is keeping it all down.  We are feeding him raw turkey.  He is also getting bread.  I know it is not a round diet, but please count in the supplements all my dogs get.

We have decided to wait to decide when to send him home.  As he is happy, eating , drinking and not in pain.  Any time one of those change we will send him home.    We do not want our son to suffer.

Today we went to Disneyland to have fun for my birthday. (I get another day there when the grand-babies come home)  It was fun and kinda sad at the same time.  This is the first time in 12.5 years that Marty did not go with us .  So the whole day was different.  We still got to walk up the exits, but a different rote than we take when Marty is there.

Hubby and I had so much fun with the babies (our girls).  We did five rides and then it was time to go.  That might be short to some but, please remember this is my first big walking trip in almost a year.  I did well.  We stopped two times. Once with us all and the other while the babies went on Space Mountain.  We spent about 2.5 hours there. That was enough for me.  I started to get sore , so it was time to go. I just wanted a day of fun with my family and I got it.

The babies (our girls 16 yrs, 18 yrs) are going back tomorrow before we go to church.  We are not too happy about going to church at this moment.  Let me explain.  Kristi is on the worship team and is the lead singer.  She serves on Sunday night and Wednesday night.  The worship team had practice Monday night and Kristi missed it due to Marty and we had a family talk.   Kristi very rarely misses serving.  They told Kristi because she missed practice she could not serve.  We could accept that if this did not happen.  Kristi's friend who is not on the worship team , nor does she serve with them , or go to practice gets to serve???.  We do not understand.  If Kristi can not serve because she missed fine.  But it is not right to let another person who has not put the time in or go to practice to serve that night.

Some times I do not understand the politics of our church or home school.  We have a set of rules and we all should abide by them.  But if your parent is a leader they look the other way.  An example is to dress modestly.  There was a leaders daughter who was allowed to wear a shirt so short you can and did see her crouch with no panties, she was also allowed to wear blood read eye shadow around her whole eyes with matching black eyeliner very heavy plus with matching lipstick with black spider webs drawn on it.  There was no problem, they said she is a teen when we said something.  But we got talked to because one time Shayna shirt showed almost an 1/2 inch of her belly when her arms were raised high.  Hello, I do not want to see her parts!  I am a female I know what I have I do not need to be showed!

I know it is just part of this world.  Like the government teacher.  She is soooo opinionated.  She tells the children her view and they are to take it.  It bugs Kristi and I.  She is so pro-female too.  How she puts it is she would vote for any female for president just to get a female in the office and yes she has said that.   We are to vote if we chose to for the one who we feel will meet our needs, not just because of their sex.

This teacher needs to give the facts and let the children decide what they like and don't.  Ok I am done , no more soap box for me.

God Bless, thank you for all your parys, please keep them coming. Mj
