Excitement around the homestead today.

Well, my DH is off today.  We had a friend down the road come over and disc up our garden spot on Saturday.  So today we will be tilling up our rows.  We are thinking we will have about 12 rows.  I know for some of you this is puny but for us we are so thankful.  We have never had our own garden at our home before.  We have always helped my inlaws with theirs and just profited off their bounty.  It will be nice to go outside my door and pick a tomatoe.  We have been reading tons of gardening books.  I would have loved to do the square foot gardening but we just did not have the funds for raised beds.  Maybe sometime we can try that.  God is so good to provide us with this opportunity and we are so thankful.  We will also be cutting grass and weed eating around the house and trees and fence lines.  Hopefully, by this afternoon the place will look great.  I will be doing my planting on Friday, Good Friday, LOL.  That's the plan for now unless God has another one.  I hope everyone has a great day.

Okra

Beans

Tomatoes

Peppers

Squash

Zuchinni

Cucumbers

Peas

Thats about all I can think of right now.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?
