New Homestead

We are currently looking at a new homestead about 30 minutes away from DH's work.  It is on 50 rolling acres.  It has a beautiful pond and a Huge barn.  There are pines, oaks, and sorghum.  It has a storm shelter.  Then there is the house.  It is a small, old, country house.  It is not very appealling at all.  However, my husband is a contractor and can do just about anything.  The biggest draw backs are the distance and the house.  The place is beautiful and very quiet.  I could have some beef cows.  I could have some sheep if I wanted.  Even a few pygmy goats.  The possibilities are endless.  The homestead we are on now is a house and 10 acres but we rent.  The land owner has decided he may retire out here next year so we have just started to look a little bit.  We have a year to find something.  I think we will all ride out there again tomorrow and take another look around.  Then we will just pray.  God knows where we will be next year and I just have to trust he has my best in mind.  It's funny though, 5 years ago when we were living in the rat race, we would have never thought about living on 50 acres, much less so far from town. LOL

I'm sorry I've been missing your updates this past week. THe new homestead sounds wonderful...but don't move until youget the Prairie dresses :o)
