Good Morning,
I just realized I haven't posted here in well over a week. I did do a chicken post on the Frontporch last Tuesday and I will be doing it again tomorrow. As many of you know, I love the chickens. They provide us with much more than we provide them.
We have just been so incredibly busy around here and when something has to go this is it!!! God has really been working on my heart in many areas. I hope to be able to share them soon.
We had a great week of school and Valentining (if that can be a word,LOl). We don't do much, as not to esteem one day above another but we do usually get the kiddo's some candy. After getting rid of sugar around here they really enjoyed a nice big solid milk chocolate hershey's kiss. It was fun. This is what we got Dh...

DH has had a gas grill forever that is old and rusty but still works. We didn't really get him this for Valentine's Day but more because He is just so good to us. He goes to work everyday and never complains. He doesn't ever ask for anything. Me on the other hand, am always saying how I would love to have this or that. Well, we went to Lowe's about a week ago and I saw him eyeing this grill. He said he would love a good charcoal grill. Well, I said get it!! He in return said no, I don't need it and all that jibber. Well, the kids and I went Wednesday and picked it up!!! It was an extravagant gift for us but if anyone deserves it, it is him. Now don't get me wrong, he is by no means perfect. He can be crabby and lose his temper at the drop of a hat, by the way so can I, but I am so unbelievably thankful God gave him to us!!!
Maa wrote a great post on spending quality time with your children. I agree with every thing she wrote whole heartedly but I would like to take it a step further. God gave us these children for a season and we should enjoy every waking moment and raise them in the knowledge of the Lord. However, I would also like to encourage us to do the same with our spouses. We have a convenant with them as long as we live. I have heard it explained like we were once two streams that merged into one and can not be seperated. How do you seperate a stream? Anyway, when my children are long gone with their own families, I will be left here with DH. If we don't cultivate this relationship now, then what will we have then. This is just a thought to ponder and encourage you on.
Blessings,
Trixi

You're absolutely right girl. When the children are gone it is only our hubby's and us. We need to spend time with them, play their hobby, and have open communications with our spouses so that it's not a shock when you're left staring at eachother.
Blessings,
~Farrah

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
