People in need of prayers....

We had some serious storms come through last night.  There have been a total of 45 deaths thus far, from Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Mississippi.  I hope LeighAnn's family is safe, as they are in that area of North Ms. that was hit.  When I went to bed the news had already reported several deaths due to Tornadoes, so we new it was going to be a good one.  I woke at about 3:00 A.M. to what I thought was the sound of hail.  It was just how strong the wind and rain were.  It rained ferociously like that for about an hour and then was gone.  I figured when I got up there would be some wind damage but so far so good, I haven't seen any.  We do need to be in prayer for all of these families that have lost a loved one.  It is incredibly sad.  Here is a link I found: http://www.wreg.com/Global/story.asp?S=7827071

It's ironic that God can send some of the hardest storms and then this morning it is beautiful out.  The birds are just chirpping away like last night never happened.  It's almost a picture of our sin.  We can do some of the worst things and God's Word says that if we ask forgiveness it is over.

Blessings,

Trixi

P.S.  As you can see in my comments, my ending to this post has been mistaken.  In order to clarify, I don't think that these horrendous storms was some kind of punishment from God.  I do think God punishes us for sin, as he is a God of wrath as much as love.  However, I have no idea what the plan was in these storms.  I just know that they were terrible and we need to pray.  I was just trying to put a picture on the scenery that we woke up to after the storm.  You know the whole calm after the storm thing.

NO WAY!

Trixi, I am truly sorry for what has happened to all the people in those tornadoes, but I am a bit disturbed by your assessment of who has done these things. A loving Father would not and could not send such tragedy and destruction! Read John 10:10(the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that you might have life and that more abundantly.) and you will see who Jesus Himself says is the destroyer, and it certainly is NOT God! God is not in control of these things. If He was, then He sure has things in a mess! No, God is not willing that any should perish and yet there are those that are not going to accept Christ. If God has His way no matter what, then everyone would be saved. I would not serve a God that would do such things to His people. James 1:16,17. This scripture is very plain about not mistakenly blaming God for evil.Every good and perfect gift comes from God. I am very sure that tornadoes and killer storms do not fall into that catagory. I apologize if I have come across as offensive. I cannot understand how others can say such things about our loving Father. Matthew 7:11. Our Father gives good gifts. Look, I don't always understand why something happens. I do know that we have an enemy out there that is just waiting to pounce on us when we give him any place. 1 Peter 5:8. I don't believe that we can just hang everything on God just because we, in our limited understanding, cannot figure it out.
Like I said, forgive me if I have offended. I am glad that we can agree or disagree in an upright way here and share our thoughts. Linda

I am sorry if you felt like I was saying God sent those storms, as punishment. That is not what I am saying at all. I do think God punishes us for sin but I am not saying that is what those storms was. I don't know what God's plan is in that. I was just using the scenerio of the calm after the storm as a picture. Again, I apologize that you mistook my wording.
Blessings,
Trixi

I apologize that I misunderstood you, Trixi. I am so grateful for this community where we can talk so openly and frankly. Forgive me? Linda

We're ok up here. The storms went all around our house. It's like we were in a bubble. Mark watched several tornadoes go by the plant while he was at work and had enough of a window to get all the way home before the next line hit us. All we had was some rain and a little bit of wind.
I tried to post this morning but the editor wouldn't load. I'm going to try again later. Sorry to ramble.
Blessings,
Leigh-Ann

I am glad your family is ok!!! Several bloggers here live in that area and have posted of their experiences!!!

Isn't it ironic how after a storm, you see the calm and it makes such an impact on you. The calm after the storm so to speak is always gorgeous.

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

Blessings my friend. It sure is times like this more prayer will go up for sure. Makes us look at how we are living and then who knows we may ask to be forgiven. Hallelujah! I appreciate your post for there is always a positve and a negative. Seeing the positive surely erases the effects of the negative. We went through the storms but God heard my prayers for our little town and as I spoke to the winds it did not damage our property. He is so faithful. Love and blessings always, rilda
ps Everything does go through Him first before it happens for He is in control. *U*

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
