A lazy kind of day....

We did not go home to church this morning and instead of visiting another one around here we just churched at home. We have been studying James and DH went over James Chapter 4 with us this morning. It was good. The jest of what I got out of it is not being a friend to this world. Even the "Church" today is having a problem in this area. I see the modern day "Church" comprimising all over the place in order to be friends with the world. In order to bring in more people, money, and to build the biggest buildings to compete with the Jone's. It is no longer the Church (God's people) but is a corporation. The preacher no longer talks about the sin of divorce, adultery, and etc. because half of the church is divorced and or living in adulteress relationships. It's exactly what God talks about in the end times. Anyway, we had a lovely time having church at home.
Since church we have just kind of sat around, reading the newspaper and etc. It is pouring rain outside, so this will be the jest of our day. Oldest DD is working on the rotel now. She made a chocolate chip cheese ball lastnight that we will eat with graham crackers and we will also have little smokies with BBQ sauce and pineapple chunks. We are just going to kind of snack through the afternoon and while watching the game. All in all, it's going to be a very restful Sunday.
Blessings,
Trixi

Glad to hear you are reading James -- I just began my study of James... I love the first chapter.... especially describing what is true religion!
It was so inspring that we decided as a family to go to the local retirement center each weeek to sing hymns and fellowship with the widows there........
The word is so clear and yes today churches are truly in the world.... so sad......
Blessings,
gloria

Honestly, home church is nice. You may not get more direction, but you will get to spend time with the ones you love worshiping the Lord who loves you.
Have a blessed week.

I agree, in the past several weeks that I have stayed home from "church" I have grown more closer to the Lord. Last night was the first time in a long time I attended an evening service at the church we attend, and again been several weeks since we were there as a family, so when I spoke up against the fact that we cant be everything to everyone, I could tell the preacher was having a hard time understanding me and where I was coming from.....Sadly I dont feel the Church is on Convicting and Repentance, but more on "being there as a friend for those in these kinds of trouble"...I am sorry but in order to help you have to be serious and tell them the BIBLE! Being a friend is about being honest, and if the Church would be honest they would know that several of the members are not exactly living up to the standards of the LORD by scripture and not by the laws of man.

Whether you agree with your church or not - worship him where you are. Unfortunately, the church is made up of sinners. My church recently went through an in depth study of the Book of James and it was awesome!! Our church has over 10,000 people attend - yes at one building but not at one time :) Still full or faults body it is so good to be part of his body!

I have church 24/7 at home with Christiam TV. I am fed my spiritual food even while I sleep if I choose. Hehe! When I go out I am the church and usually who ever I spend time with while out we have church. Either with prayer or just speaking about our testimony or of our experiences with Our Lord. Where we are there He is. Have a blessed week! rilda *U*

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
