Oh, what a day.....what a day....

I would almost say it has not been a totally great day but that is not the case.  I have so many things to be thankful for that I can't say that today has been all bad.  However, my middle daughter has had fever off and on all day.  It has been gloomy and dreary outside all day and DH is going to be gone for the rest of the evening.  Now, enough of that....

Lastnight, a cold front moved in and brought a good bit of rain with it.  Since we have been in a drought for going on 3 years this is some much needed rain.  As for the cooler temps. (50's), all I can say is thank you Lord.  It was not a minute too soon.  This past weekend it was still in the upper 80's and low 90's here.  I thought summer would never end.  I have finally gotten to put on a nice pot of chicken vegetable soup.  I will also be serving a nice pan of cornbread with the soup.  Did I happen to mention, I love Fall!!!  I also got out the winter clothes boxes and it seems I have some buying to do around here.  Just a few staples for the children's wardrobe.  They are literally growing by leaps and bounds before my eyes.  It truly makes me sad how fast it goes by.  It also convicts me all the more how little time left we have to impact their lives for Jesus Christ. 

Now, on to my other news....                                                                     My sweet DD will be sixteen on Thursday.  She is an amazing girl and growing spiritually by the day.  I would give my right arm to be the kind of girl she is.  Well, she has wanted a small lap type dog for some time and we have resisted because of the hassle.  However, DH said last night that if it were one of the other children he would not even consider it but being as it is this child, he is leaning towards letting her have one.  He said we would not have to do anything with it because of her dilligence.  I think he is right.  So I have been searching the net for a puppy.  I am leaning towards a Dachshund.  Any thoughts?
