So many things to write about and so many things to ponder.....

Well, I have not really blogged substantially since the move, Aug. 8. I have many things to tell and don't even know where to begin. I'll start by saying that we moved from a town of about 25,000 to a town of about 4,000 people. We have a small WalMart, Sonic, McDonald's and a Wendy's. That about sums up the fine dining here.LOL However, it's a very nice community. Nevertheless, we sooo miss home. We left a body of believers who were so like minded. They loved and served the Lord, homeschooled, home churched, and just lived life for Jesus. As of yet, we have not found that same type of group here. Granted it has only been 2 1/2 months, but that has been the hardest part. The move has been a good thing, all things considered. DH loves his job and him being home in 10 minutes rather than an hour and a half is glorious. I can run up to his office if he forgets his lunch or if I just want to see him. That is nice. We didn't even have that before, because we were too far out. In this town rural is right outside the city limits.LOL We are surrounded by a dairy farm and just the nicest people. The wife (dairy) neighbor sent my girls home with a gallon of fresh milk on Wednesday. Can you ask for more? I think not! They have just bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. Everywhere we go people are just go out of the way, nice. It's a neat thing to watch. The one thing that we were really wanting to get a little distance from was family. Both sides do not fully accept our life decisions and although, we don't want to be too far from them, this is just the right distance. It has been a good thing in that regard.
Now for the downside, we have not found a church or a group of like minded believers. Now don't get me wrong, there is a church on every corner and street. It cracks me up the number of churches in such a small community. This area is full of "church" people. However, I don't consider us "church" people. On the contrary, we are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. We love and obey God and His commandments. This love governs everything we do from lying down at night to walking through the day. It is the reason we homeschool and train our children, as we do. As well as many other things. Don't get me wrong, I very much believe in the assembling of believers but it is not an institution or business, as it seems like so much today. The big thing for us right now is that we are big into training our children and I rely heavily on the verse... Do not be deceived:"Bad company corrupts good morals." 1 Cor. 15:33 This verse weighs heavily on me. We take our job as parents very seriously. I have even seen things in the homeschool group here that concern me in regards to parenting. I would love any suggestions for how to go about finding the right church. With all of my concerns, I still can have peace in knowing that God put us here and He alone will lead us where we fit in this community. We have stepped out on faith and I am just heavily leaning on Him for guidance.
Well, that will have to be all for tonight!!
Blessings,
Trixi

Sounds like all is well!
I don't know how to solve the church issues.........I would love to be part of what you used to be a part of. It sounds like THE Church God was talking about in the Word.
I am anxious to see what everyone else has to say

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
