Whew! A free moment....

DH has been out of town for the last 2 weeks and between starting the new school year, unloading the last of the boxes, painting the kitchen, cleaning off fence lines, cleaning up the yard and keeping house, we have been busy little bees. I have missed so much on here. I can't wait to go get caught up but first I thought I would do a little update. The school year has started off with a bang. We have been schooling now for a full 3 weeks and it is going really well. I can't say enough how much I LOVE Teaching Textbooks for Math. It is pricey but I will have it for the next ones coming through. I love it!!! Oldest DD is doing Switched on Schoolhouse 10th grade (thank you my dear friend Deanna) and Teaching Textbooks Algebra. Middle DD is doing Teaching Textbooks Math 7 and a mish mash of rod and staff, Abeka, and Bob Jones. Youngest Son is doing Abeka, Bob Jones and Rod and Staff. I love Rod and Staff, especially for Spelling. You can not beat the thoroughness of their spelling program. Not to mention, all of the scripture that put throughout it!!
I no longer have boxes everywhere. I unpacked the last few while DH was gone. I have some boxes with movies and pictures in them that I hope to go through one day. I would like to get all of the pictures put into albums. Oh, there I go with that wishful thinking.LOL
As for the kitchen, I have always wanted a chili pepper red kitchen. Well, my last kitchen had way too much wall space for red. It would have been way too much. This house has tons of cabinets covering most of the wall space. So I decided it was just enough space for a touch of red. It looks great!! There are drip marks from little ones helping me but I told DH one day those little ones wont be there and I will be longing for drip marks!
Then there has been the never ending chore of setting up the proper homestead. After finishing up the fencing, there were existing fence lines to clear. My family has been eaten up with poison ivy numerous times, all in the name of making a homestead.LOL No matter the pain and aggravation, the rewards are endless. Or so we keep telling ourselves.LOL The yard here is great but very overrun with vegetation and Lord Willing next year we will have quite the very large garden. So that means cleaning the 1 acre spot that the garden will sit on. It has been a lot of work but we will be glad that we didn't wait until next spring.
Well, if I am going to catch up on all of my friends I need to get to it. Have a great evening.
Blessings,
Trixi

About Me
First and foremost I am a redeemed by grace follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, my saviour. I am also the wife of my wonderful DH of 17 1/2 years and the mother to my 3 DC, ages 16, 13, and 10, who we homeschool. This is where I will chronicle our daily adventures and my walk with the Lord.

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
