Good Morning... Daily rantings on the homestead...Only a month to the big move....

Good Morning, all.  I trust everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July week.  DH took off everday but Tuesday, so we had a great week, just having him home.  We had friends over Wed. night and had a great time of fellowship.

I have finished my reading for the day.  I read the end of Esther 8-10 and 1 Kings 6-9.  I would say the general theme was if we are obedient then we have God's promise of provision.  Also, to be obedient even in the hardest of situations.

Today, is going to be a day filled with chores.  We will get caught up on the things that tend to get behind when Daddy is home, like laundry.LOL  I might even put up more pickles and tomatoes.  I am finally getting enough tomatoes to put some up.  They don't look great and aren't as big as last years but they are tomatoes, none the less.  I thought the drought was going to have them, but we got an all day long rain on Saturday and by Sunday the garden looked so green and lush.  We may get a second wind after all.  I put up 6 pints of tomatoes on Friday.  I still don't think I will have enough to supply all of our tomato based needs here on the homestead but something is better than nothing.  I am thankful.  We have picked a ton of peas in the last couple of days.

I will also be packing up a few things today.  We are moving Aug. 8.  Dh will be leaving for a little over 2 weeks on July 19.  Then the children and I are going on vacation with my mom July 24.  So, I have a lot to do and a lot going on at the same time.  It's going to make the time go by so fast.  I am sad about that.  I would love to really have time to spend in this place that we love so much, but maybe its a good thing not to be to reminiscent.  It might make us too sad.  So far so good, the kids are all taking the move as good as possible.  We will still be coming back for church.  We just don't know that we will be able to find the same kind of likeminded fellowship that we know have.
