We have finally found our favorite bread recipe.....

I have made bread and made bread but we have finally decided on our favorite recipe....

First of all I grind my own bread flour.  I keep a mixture of 1 part hard red to 2 parts Prairie Gold in a canister next to my grinder.  I also use a baker's secret bread pan that I just purchased that works perfect.  I know it's aluminum but it is the best I have found thus far.  I combine the following in my bread machine.

1 c. warm water

3T. honey or evaporated cane sugar

3T. melted butter or oil

1t. salt

1c. hard red flour

2c. Prairie Gold flour

3T. vital wheat gluten

1/2T. yeast

I then turn my bread machine on the dough cycle.  When finished I put it in my bread pan and cook on 350* for about 25 minutes.

We always cut ours down the center to make sure it is done.  I should have taken the picture before cutting.  Oh well, it tastes great.

I think the pan made a world of difference in the crust around the bread.  This recipe makes one loaf but you could always double it.
