Staying home with your babies.....

I really try not to get on my soap box too often but this was brought to my attention yesterday and I thought I would share....

In our local paper yesterday there was an article about a 4 month old baby that had died in daycare.  DH and I were discussing it and I said, " Oh that is so sad."  I was thinking how awful for the mother and family and just what a short life.  Anyway, then DH said that baby should have never been in daycare.  (I know there are some extenuating circumstances)  That part of it never dawned on me that had that baby been at home in the loving care of his/her mother it would still be alive.  My brother's wife is now expecting their first baby and as soon as that baby is 6 weeks old it will be in daycare.  My sister in law has a very high profile job at the bank.  The most important job we will ever have as women is molding and shaping the lives of the blessings we are given.  I encourage all of us as women to look at what God says our most important job is.  I don't know that I do it perfectly or even well.  However, I do know that my goal is to have my Saviour say that I gave it a valiant effort.  So nurture those babies yourself.  Don't leave it to someone else.

Blessings,

Trixi

When our first born was just a few weeks old DH and I decided right then and there that strangers and the government were not going to raise our children. I don't want my children institutionalized and formed into the sad people the government is making so many children into that attend the public/government school arena. How many children out there form those close knit bonds with their caretakers rather than their mother and father? Sad. I realize some people out there have no choice (my prayers to you) but so many do have a choice and just don't want to be inconvenienced by having to be parents. God gave us the best job in the world- to raise, love and nurture our kids. How can we let Him and them down?
-This is not intended to offend anyone and it is my personal view. I am not judging anyone or anything like that just like our homesteading life is not a dig at those who love the city. Some people have no choice and you have my prayers that God will help you to still be able to raise your children in a godly way despite the government school system.
God Bless,
~Rhen

Your soap box is a good one-dont ever be ashamed to get upon it for somthing your believe and I totally agree with your post. The thing that I regret most is working the first 6 months of my sons life. I have been at home ever since. My children are now 11 and 9. I also agree with the above comments.

Amen, well said. It is so sad when something happens to a baby. I read an article in our paper a few days ago that a women high on drugs cut her babies penis off and didn't know she had even did it. Maybe he should have been in a day care that day, poor heart. Sometimes its a no win situation I guess.
Have a great day.

No, that's a situation where they don't even need children but that is a whole other topic.

I agree 100%!!! I don't understand how one could leave their child to be raised by another. I don't want to judge but I just thank God that I have a husband that wants ME the MOTHER to RAISE the children! What a concept!!!! Thanks for the post!

Blessings,
Chas

We don't have children yet, but After stepping back from working, my husband found the importance of me staying home. I've been home without child for a year now and I'm learning so much. My husband works full time, is at college full time and also has to get his time in for his preceptorship at childrens hospital.

I was made to feel that I was lazy, mooching off my husband, or "one of those". I found myself applying for jobs, but for some reason, they never felt right or in many cases, fell through. Today, I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is Gods plan. With all the things on my husbands plate right now, he'd never be able to wash his own clothes, fix his breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have any time for himself. He has said on many occasions that he enjoys coming home to a wife who encourages and loves.

I look forward to being a SAHM wheather by conception or adoption. This post is so right about making sure where our priorities lie.

Rebekah

HERE HERE well said...I am 49 and never thought of taking care of babies again...But before my grandbabies go to day care I will sit for them and that is what I am doing. She will be 2 this month, a handful for sure but I want to see her if GOD is willing starting school and not have her life maybe shorten due to the dangers in DC. I know some have NO choice in the matter but........Just my thoughts please no one taken offense to it........Debbie

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
