Today is and has been my birthday....

                    Today has been my birthday.  Which around here is just another day.LOL  There is just to much to be done to get to involved in a birthday.  However, DH did give me a wonderful card.  I just love his cards.  Also, a dear friend and neighbor brought me a hanging plant thingy.  It was sweet.  My children have been very sweet to their momma all day, as well.  So what more could a person ask for. 

Well, I got a lot done today.  I got a new shelf painted and put together for school books.  I also got a bookshelf cleared off and some Salvation Army stuff bagged and taken to the SA.  I can see the bottom of my closet and the kids rooms look great!!!

DH was off and got 3/4 of the garden tilled.  It looks great.  He tilled until he had blisters (yes he had gloves on).  Keep in mind he sits behind a desk all day.LOL  He worked himself hard today.  That's what happens when you are 7 inches below normal rain fall for the year.  My yard is already cracking up.  I see now we need to start praying for rain. 

I am so pleased with the progress being made around here.  Last night, I got tomatoes and cucumbers started in my little peat green house things from Lowe's.  It's our first time doing this so we will see what happens.  I also have 2 blooms on my strawberry plants.WooHoo!!  It won't be long until I am making some strawberry preserves.LOL 

About 3-4 weeks ago, we transplanted 2 crepe myrtle trees.  One was very small and one was a bit bigger.  The small one we felt like would make it but the bigger we just were not sure.  We had to cut so many of it's roots, as they were interferring with our other crepe myrtles that were staying in their original spot.  Anyway, I am happy to report that both of them have buds coming out.  I hope that means they have made it!!

What a great day it sounds like you had.
Praying here for rain also, just read that they added 20 more AL counties to a fire alert, which brings the total to 43 counties. I found a county map of AL and that is almost the entire west side of the state. Please Lord bless us with some rain.

May the Lord bless you on this special day. Sounds like you all got a lot done. My birthdays are much like yours, to busy to have a party. I know you are blessed though and that the things your family did were a blessing to you. Rest well tonight and have a great tomorrow.

Well I'm sorry I missed saying Happy Birthday to you! Funny how I can see the profiles daily and never really "look" at the birthdays or anything in them :o( I'm sorry.

As to rain -- I knew this year seemed dry compared to last year. I thought once the rains started in late February we were settled in with storms off and on through April and into May....this year, nothing. Our yard is rather dusty ad cracked already, too.
