My new avatar and happenings around the stead....

Well, I put a new avatar in.  The winter pinecone that I had was just not fitting any longer as we are into spring now.  This one is a picture at sunset that one of my DC took last year and entered into our 4H exhibit days.  I love the sunrise and sunset here on the prarie.

Yesterday, our vet experience went well.  It was very educational to say the least.  The doctor castrated our little foal and that went well.  He had very little bleeding.  We had to stall him for the rest of the day and night.  He will be going out here shortly.  He will still be sore for several days but he has plenty of little nurses to tend to his every whim.LOL  We also had his booster shots given and our horse Paco had a coggins test pulled.  It was a very expensive day.  As I was writing the check, I kind of sighed and the vet told me that it's better to pay for this kind of thing than to be paying to bail out my children.  I just laughed.  He had a point though.  So from now on when I want to scream because the feed bill or the vet bill are so high I will think about that statement.

We have a full day ahead.  I hope you all have a great one.
