Why is your blog named......

I thought this was a great question posted by MusketMan.  Why did I name my blog Homesteadinthemaking....  Well, when we moved to this 10 acres, it was the first time that we had really lived outside the city.  We had lived out before but it was for very brief times in a rental waiting on another house to be built.LOL  Anyway, this was the first time we could really learn to be self sufficient and live off the land.  Although, I do not think you have to be out in the country to be a homesteader.  I do think for us leaving the subdivision for a gravel road changed everything about us.  I am now desiring to learn all sorts of lost arts such as sewing, bread baking, cooking from scratch, and etc.  Hence the name Homestead in the making.  I am a homestead in the making.  I have loved every minute of the journey.  I hope to learn even more this year.

That is a great story and you are right, a lot of the everyday PAST ARTS have been lost over the years, it is up to people like us to preserve them, just because we live in a modern world doesn't mean that it's a better world...
